The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Revolution Four-Axis Tourbillon is a highly sculptural mechanical watch built around a rotating central platform and a flying tourbillon that turns on three further axes. Its official specifications describe a 60-second platform rotation, a 1/6-second constant-force loading interval, and a 47 mm rose-gold case with integrated sapphire. Jacob & Co.’s Japan listing gives a tax-included suggested retail price of ¥135,520,000 and an 18-piece edition; that price is specific to Japan and may change.
What “four-axis” means on this Astronomia
The name counts four distinct rotations in the display: the central platform’s rotation is one axis, and the flying tourbillon carriage contributes three more. It is not a reference to four separate tourbillons. The result is a moving assembly in which the tourbillon and other elements travel around the watch’s centre while the tourbillon itself changes orientation.

Jacob & Co.’s official Japanese product specification lists the platform’s revolution time and the periods for each of the three tourbillon axes:
| Rotating element | Published period | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Central platform | One revolution in 60 seconds | Jacob & Co. Japan Four-Axis product specification |
| First tourbillon axis | 60 seconds | Jacob & Co. Japan Four-Axis product specification |
| Second tourbillon axis | 18 seconds | Jacob & Co. Japan Four-Axis product specification |
| Third tourbillon axis | 15 seconds | Jacob & Co. Japan Four-Axis product specification |
The platform and tourbillon’s first listed axis therefore share a one-minute period, while the other two axes complete their turns more quickly. The display is designed to make those motions visible; “four-axis” describes the movement’s kinetic architecture, not a promise of superior accuracy.

How the constant-force device fits in
The Japanese specification also lists a constant-force device that loads at 1/6-second intervals. In other words, its stated loading cadence is six times per second. That is a separate feature from the four rotating axes: it concerns the movement’s delivery of force, while the axes describe the visible rotations.
The published material establishes the device’s interval but does not provide an independent performance test or enough detail to quantify how much it changes timekeeping in use. Treat its presence as a notable part of the mechanism, not as an independently verified accuracy result.
Case, movement and published specifications
The Four-Axis regional listing specifies a 47 mm diameter and 27 mm height, with an 18K rose-gold case and integrated sapphire. Those dimensions and the exposed, moving architecture make this a large, emphatically sculptural watch rather than a discreet everyday design.
| Specification | Published detail | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Case | 47 mm diameter; 27 mm height | Jacob & Co. Japan Four-Axis regional specification |
| Materials | 18K rose gold and integrated sapphire | Jacob & Co. Japan Four-Axis regional specification |
| Calibre | JCAM48B, hand-wound | Jacob & Co. white-gold Revolution specification |
| Components | 434 | Jacob & Co. white-gold Revolution specification |
| Frequency | 21,600 vph (3 Hz) | Jacob & Co. white-gold Revolution specification |
| Power reserve | 30 hours | Jacob & Co. white-gold Revolution specification |
The movement figures above come from Jacob & Co.’s published white-gold Revolution specification, which identifies calibre JCAM48B. They are the manufacturer’s published figures, not results from an independent test of the Four-Axis rose-gold example. The white-gold page also lists a sapphire caseband, curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal and 30 m water resistance for that variant; those details should not automatically be treated as Four-Axis-specific specifications.

Price and edition size
Jacob & Co. Japan lists the Four-Axis at ¥135,520,000 tax included and warns that the price may change. This is a Japan-market suggested retail figure shown on the regional product listing accessed in 2026, not a universal current price or a verified global secondary-market value.
The same regional listing states that the Four-Axis is limited to 18 pieces. Jacob & Co. describes the broader Astronomia Revolution family as 18 pieces divided among rose-gold, white-gold and black-DLC versions. That wording describes 18 pieces across the family, not 18 of each finish.
How it differs from the earlier Astronomia Revolution
Jacob & Co. announced the Astronomia Revolution on March 22, 2023, describing it as a version of the Astronomia platform whose central assembly completes a rotation in one minute. The company’s official Four-Axis launch video, published April 14, 2025, presents the model as a decade milestone for the Astronomia and identifies its additional triple-axis tourbillon architecture.
The meaningful distinction is therefore the combination of the Revolution’s fast-moving central platform with a tourbillon that rotates on three axes of its own. The published material supports that architectural comparison, but it does not establish a complete side-by-side specification comparison with every earlier Astronomia model.
Who this watch is for
The Four-Axis is aimed at a collector who values visible mechanical spectacle, unusual movement architecture and precious materials over slimness or visual restraint. Its size, height and kinetic display are central to its identity; anyone considering one should assess the physical dimensions and the movement’s care requirements with an authorized retailer or specialist before purchase. The stated 18-piece production also means that availability should be confirmed directly rather than assumed from a product listing.
