The RGM 501 Teddy Baldassarre Edition pairs Pennsylvania watchmaking with a Swiss micro-rotor: a 39 mm steel watch built around RGM’s hand-cut guilloché dial work and the RGM-Schwarz Etienne ASE 200 automatic movement. Monochrome introduced it on January 14, 2026, as a special edition created from RGM’s previously unreleased 501 concept.
What the collaboration is
Monochrome reports that Teddy Baldassarre became interested in RGM’s unreleased 501 design, leading to this production collaboration. The result retains the 501’s classical proportions while giving the dial and movement a distinctly Pennsylvania-meets-Switzerland identity.
RGM is the Pennsylvania watch company founded by Roland G. Murphy in 1992. For this edition, its role is most visible in the hand-cut guilloché and the movement finishing details, while Schwarz Etienne supplies the Swiss-made base movement.

A hand-cut blue guilloché dial
The dial starts with a silver base and uses two separate blue, galvanic-plated guilloché patterns. One occupies the main field; a smaller pattern forms the subsidiary-seconds register at six. Silver chapter rings separate the patterned surfaces and help frame the time display.

Black Breguet numerals mark the minutes, with the numerals at three and nine flipped as a deliberate stylistic detail. Silver hour and minute hands combine leaf and sword forms. The layout remains time-only, so there is no date or chronograph information competing with the engine-turned work.
The ASE 200 micro-rotor movement
The Swiss-made RGM-Schwarz Etienne ASE 200 uses an automatic micro-rotor rather than a full-size winding rotor. Its stated 86-hour reserve allows the watch to run for more than three days when fully wound. The movement beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and contains 33 jewels.

Through the sapphire back, Monochrome describes shared Côtes de Genève and perlage decoration from RGM and Schwarz Etienne. A curved plaque on the micro-rotor references Lancaster, Pennsylvania, tying the Swiss mechanism to RGM’s home base.
Case design and practical fit
The stepped bezel, box-style sapphire and oversized crown give the case a deliberately traditional profile. The stated 48 mm lug-to-lug measurement is the more useful fit reference for many wrists than diameter alone. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres; that is a specification for everyday splashes, not evidence that the watch is intended as a diving instrument.

The supplied strap is 20 mm wide. A replacement advertised as 20 mm may still fail to fit correctly: confirm lug width, taper, leather thickness and deployant-clasp compatibility before ordering.
Is it limited, and what does it cost?
The answer depends on the wording. Monochrome describes the model as a special edition, not a limited edition. The first production batch consists of 25 watches, and the case back carries the number 25 in reference to that batch, but the source does not establish that production ends there.
