What is the Seiko Prospex GMT 60th Anniversary Edition?
SBEJ027 is the model number for this blue-dial Prospex diver. Seiko describes it as a 60th-anniversary limited model based on the design of its 1968 diver, while the anniversary itself marks 60 years since Seiko’s first Japanese-made diver’s watch in 1965. Does the SBEJ027 have a true GMT?
Yes. Its automatic Caliber 6R54 has a 24-hour GMT hand that can be adjusted independently of the main time display. That lets the wearer set the second time zone without resetting the home-time hands. Seiko lists a dual-time display and 24 jewels. The GMT hand is not a substitute for the rotating dive bezel: the bezel is unidirectional and serves a different timing function.

Seiko specifies 300-meter air-diving water resistance. That rating is not a recommendation to use the watch for every kind of diving, and the listing does not describe it as a saturation-diving watch.
Design: 1968 inspiration, anniversary details
The SBEJ027 pairs a blue bezel insert with a blue dial bearing a dynamic wave pattern inspired by Seiko’s wave mark. The design reference is Seiko’s 1968 300-meter air-diving model, rather than the brand’s first diver from 1965. The anniversary model’s GMT display is a modern functional addition to that heritage-based design.

Seiko’s history describes the 1968 watch as a 300-meter air-diving model with a high-beat movement. The company says mountaineers Naomi Uemura and Teruo Matsuura carried that model on their 1970 Everest ascent. How it differs from Seiko’s other 60th-anniversary divers
The SBEJ027 was one of three models Seiko announced for the 2025 diver-watch anniversary; it was not the only anniversary release. The models differ in heritage basis, movement, function, edition size and Japan-market suggested retail price.

Seiko announced the SBEJ027 in 2025. A separate later announcement describes HBC011, a fan-selected 1965 heritage diver with Caliber 6R55 planned for October 2026; it is a different watch, not another name or variant for the GMT SBEJ027. Seiko’s August 2026 announcement
