The 1.65 mm figure is the complete case thickness specified for the current production watch, not merely the thickness of its movement. The movement is integrated into the case architecture, allowing the watch to achieve its exceptionally flat profile.
How the mystery display works
ThinKing uses transparent sapphire hour and minute discs positioned beneath four sapphire crystals. Because the discs are transparent, the indications appear to float over the watch rather than sit on a conventional dial.
The manufacture drives and guides the discs laterally. Its stated purpose is to reduce runout and energy loss, a significant engineering concern when large, extremely thin transparent components must remain stable and readable. The result is a mechanical display that hides much of its drive architecture while keeping the time indications visible.

Movement and winding system
K.23-3.1 calibre
The manually wound K.23-3.1 has 54 jewels, a single ultra-thin barrel and a stated 38-hour power reserve. Its regulating system uses a double balance with toothed coupling, while the escapement is a Swiss lever operating at 18,000 vibrations per hour.
Dedicated key and winding box
ThinKing is wound with a dedicated key rather than a conventional crown. A separate stainless-steel key incorporates a safety mechanism. The supplied carbon-and-stainless winding box can protect the watch during winding and time setting.

How much does the ThinKing cost?
Konstantin Chaykin Japan lists the watch at ¥88,000,000 including tax. That listing is regional and time-sensitive: it currently marks the watch sold out and gives an estimated delivery around spring 2027. The displayed price and delivery estimate should therefore be treated as listing data, not a permanent global price.
Can you buy a ThinKing?
The production edition is restricted to 12 pieces. The manufacture says allocation is decided through a closed review process that may prioritize existing collectors, long-term partners and applicants able to demonstrate substantiated interest. A public checkout page should not be assumed to represent normal availability.

What makes ThinKing significant
