The M.A.D.2 is the second watch from M.A.D.Editions, designed by Eric Giroud around the look and sound of club culture. Its green, vinyl-record-inspired dial and unusual jumping-hour display make it distinctive, while its 42 mm steel case is more conventional to wear than the M.A.D.1. Watch the official video and find the design story, specifications, launch price and raffle details below.

How the M.A.D.2 design connects to club culture

Designer Eric Giroud drew on his connection to 1990s club culture and Lausanne’s MAD club. The green dial is styled like a vinyl record, and the jumping-hour and trailing-minute display evokes DJ turntables. The openworked rotor references the stroboscopic band on a Technics SL-1200 turntable.

The video’s music was supplied by Mandrax, the stage name of Lausanne DJ Stephan Kohler and a friend of Giroud. Kohler made the track as a tribute to the club, beats and vinyl culture behind the watch.

How M.A.D.2 differs from M.A.D.1

The M.A.D.2 retains the line’s unconventional time display and visual storytelling, but presents the time from the dial side in a more familiar orientation. Its 12.3 mm thickness and 42 mm case are the clearest practical points of distinction: independent coverage describes it as a more conventionally wearable successor to M.A.D.1. The movement combines a La Joux-Perret automatic base calibre with a purpose-developed display module.

Launch editions, price and raffle

At launch, M.A.D.2 came in two editions. The orange edition was reserved for the MB&F/M.A.D. “Tribe and Friends”; the green edition was offered through a public raffle. Launch materials in 2025 reported a price of CHF 2,900 excluding VAT.

Hands-on coverage said the public raffle opened on 1 April at 2:00 p.m. Swiss time and ran for one week. That was the launch-era raffle, not confirmation of current availability. Whether another raffle is open, or whether the watch is currently in stock, is not established here. Check M.A.D.Editions’ official channels for any current entry instructions; no current raffle link or resale price is confirmed.
