These 2025 Oris watches serve very different purposes: the Big Crown Calibre 113 puts a 52-week business calendar and a 10-day hand-wound reserve on display, while the Oris x Bamford ProPilot Altimeter “Mission Control” combines automatic timekeeping with a mechanical altimeter. The choice is less about which watch is universally better and more about whether you want calendar information or an unusual altitude-and-pressure indication—and whether you prefer a smaller steel watch or a larger carbon-composite pilot watch.
What distinguishes the two Oris watches?
The Calibre 113 is a calendar-focused watch built around manual winding and a long reserve. The Mission Control is a limited-edition ProPilot with an automatic movement and a mechanical altimeter. Oris’s Calibre 113 listing and Mission Control listing describe different cases, functions and wearing propositions, so they are not direct alternatives for the same need.
- Choose the Big Crown Calibre 113 if week, month, day and date indications, plus a 240-hour reserve, are central to what you want from a watch.
- Consider Mission Control if you want a mechanical altimeter in a large, colorful pilot-watch design, and are comfortable with its operating and water-resistance caveats.

Big Crown Calibre 113: a calendar and ten-day reserve
On the researched stainless-steel bracelet reference, 01 113 7800 4057-07 8 21 06, the 43 mm case houses hand-wound Calibre 113. Oris lists a 240-hour (10-day) power reserve. That extended interval is useful if you want fewer winding sessions, but the watch is still manual: it must be wound rather than relying on wrist movement to keep it running.

The dial’s information is its defining feature. Central hands indicate the week and month, alongside the conventional hour and minute hands; separate windows show the day and date, and a small-seconds display and non-linear reserve indicator add further readouts. The calendar is built for business-week and month-at-a-glance information rather than a minimal dial. The green dial and 21 mm interhorn width are details of the cited listing; other variants may differ. See Oris’s product page for the exact reference.
Mission Control: what the mechanical altimeter does
Mission Control was made with London’s Bamford Watch Department. Its 47 mm carbon-composite case and gray PVD titanium components give it a larger, more technical presence than the steel Calibre 113. The watch pairs automatic Calibre 793 with an altimeter function. WatchTime’s September 4, 2025 launch coverage reports a 56-hour reserve and an altimeter scale reaching 19,700 feet (about 6,000 metres) for this model.

Oris’s manual explains the operating principle: the altimeter is calibrated against a known altitude or a reference pressure such as QNH, QFE or QNE. A yellow indicator reads altitude, while a red indicator corresponds to atmospheric pressure. Because the altitude indication depends on calibration and ambient pressure, changing weather and temperature can affect the reading; it should be recalibrated against a known reference when needed. The manual’s older version describes a different range, up to 15,000 feet (4,500 metres), so that figure should not be substituted for the Mission Control-specific range reported at launch. Consult the Oris altimeter manual for operating details.
Altimeter and water-resistance precautions
Oris explicitly says the altimeter should be used only as a secondary instrument alongside another altitude device during flight operations or expeditions. It is not a replacement for aviation equipment or a primary safety instrument. The brand’s manual also warns that the case is not water resistant while the crown at 4 o’clock is unscrewed. The 10-bar listing therefore should not be read as permission to expose the watch to water with that crown open; secure it as directed before water exposure.

Size, materials and wearing considerations
The difference between a 43 mm steel case and a 47 mm carbon-composite case is substantial on paper and likely to matter in everyday wear. Case diameter alone does not determine fit, but Mission Control’s larger dimensions, bold accent colors and 23 mm strap width make it the more visually assertive option. The Calibre 113 is also a substantial watch, yet its steel construction and green-dial calendar presentation offer a more traditional Big Crown look.
The listed widths are 21 mm for the researched Calibre 113 reference and 23 mm for Mission Control. Those measurements are useful when narrowing replacement-strap options, but they do not establish that any strap of the same width will fit correctly at the lugs or work with the original clasp.

Which one should you choose?
- For calendar information: Calibre 113 supplies week, month, day and date indications, along with a reserve display.
- For longer intervals between winding: Calibre 113’s hand-wound movement is listed with 240 hours (10 days) of reserve. Mission Control is automatic, with WatchTime reporting 56 hours.
- For an altimeter complication: Mission Control provides mechanical altitude and air-pressure indications, subject to calibration and atmospheric conditions.
- For a less oversized case: the Calibre 113 reference is 43 mm versus Mission Control’s 47 mm.
- For materials and visual character: the Calibre 113 listing specifies stainless steel and a green dial; Mission Control uses carbon composite and gray PVD titanium components, with colorful accents reported at launch.
- For water use: the Calibre 113 is listed at 5 bar. Mission Control is listed at 10 bar only with crowns secured, and the unscrewed altimeter crown leaves it not water resistant.
