Oura does not measure blood sugar itself. In the United States, the Oura App can import glucose data from Stelo by Dexcom and show it alongside Oura trends. The integration currently supports Stelo only—not Dexcom G6, G7, or other glucose monitors. You need an Oura Ring Gen3 or newer, an active Oura Membership, a Stelo sensor, and a compatible phone.
How the Oura–Dexcom integration works
The data flow is Stelo sensor → Stelo app → Oura App. Stelo measures glucose using a filament inserted beneath the skin; the ring does not take a blood sample or read glucose through your finger. Oura contributes context from ring-derived information such as sleep, activity, stress, and other trends, while the Stelo biosensor supplies glucose readings. Oura describes the feature in its Glucose Tracking support guide, and introduced it as part of its metabolic-health features in its May 6, 2025 announcement.
Dexcom and Oura announced a broader strategic partnership on November 19, 2024, but the current consumer integration documented by Oura is narrower: Stelo is the supported sensor. The announcement is not evidence that every Dexcom product now sends data to Oura.
Which rings and glucose sensors are compatible?

The ring also needs an active membership for this feature. Oura’s membership details are listed in its membership support page. Requirements and availability may change, so check Oura’s compatibility guide if your account or phone is close to a listed threshold.

What Stelo is—and who it is intended for
Stelo is an over-the-counter integrated continuous glucose monitor. Dexcom says it is intended for adults aged 18 and older who are not using insulin. Its purpose is to help users observe how factors such as food, exercise, sleep, and stress relate to glucose patterns—not to authorize treatment decisions on its own. Stelo has its own app, so an Oura Ring is not required to use the sensor. Stelo says its app can also connect with Apple Health and Google Health Connect. If glucose tracking is your only goal, compare that standalone option with the cost of adding an Oura ring and membership.

How to connect Stelo to the Oura App
- Check eligibility. Confirm you have an Oura Ring Gen3 or newer, an active Oura Membership, a supported phone operating system, and a US country or App Store setting. In Oura, check the country setting from the menu under Settings.
- Set up Stelo. Install the Stelo by Dexcom app, create or sign in to a Stelo account, and follow Dexcom’s sensor application instructions. Oura directs users to place the sensor on the back of the upper arm, where there is sufficient fatty tissue and less risk of bumps or compression during sleep.
- Connect the accounts. Open the Glucose feature in the Oura App and follow its in-app connection flow. Oura’s interface can change, so use the labels shown in your app rather than relying on an older fixed menu path. The Oura App should use your Oura account email; the Stelo app should use your Stelo account email.
- Allow the sensor to warm up and sync. Stelo lists a 30-minute warmup and a sensor life of up to 15 days on its purchase page. Readings may not appear in Oura immediately: the sensor needs to be active, and the Stelo app must sync data to the phone.
What glucose information appears in Oura?
Oura’s Glucose feature can show a glucose graph, time above range, and patterns over the day. It is designed to let users view those trends alongside meals and Oura information related to activity, sleep, and stress. That makes Oura a context and trend-viewing layer; it does not change how glucose is measured or turn the ring into a glucose monitor.
Look for patterns across time rather than treating an isolated value as a diagnosis. Stelo readings come from a sensor filament beneath the skin, so they will not always match a conventional blood-glucose-meter result. Oura notes this distinction in its support documentation.

In practice, the combined setup involves an eligible ring, membership, and recurring sensors. Stelo can be purchased from Stelo or an authorized seller; buying it through Oura is not required for compatibility. Stelo purchases are described as final in Oura’s purchasing information. If you cancel Oura Membership, the Oura-side Glucose Tracking feature requires an active membership, although the Stelo app and sensor remain separate.

Medical limits: when not to rely on this feature
Do not change medication, insulin, prescribed diet, or treatment based solely on a glucose value displayed in Oura. Oura is not a medical device, and Stelo is not intended to support medical decisions without consulting a qualified health professional. The Dexcom–Oura announcement also distinguishes Oura’s wellness product from medical-device use.
Stelo is intended for adults who are not using insulin. If you use insulin, have problematic hypoglycemia, or need glucose alerts and treatment-oriented decisions, use a clinically appropriate system selected with your healthcare professional—not the Oura integration as a substitute. If a sensor value does not fit how you feel, follow Stelo’s safety guidance and contact a healthcare professional. A blood glucose meter may be appropriate for confirmation in some circumstances. Stelo explains this on its how-it-works page.
Troubleshooting missing or interrupted data
- Stelo works, but Oura shows no glucose data: Check that the ring is Gen3 or newer, membership is active, your phone meets the OS requirement, and your country and App Store settings meet Oura’s US requirements. Confirm you connected the correct Oura and Stelo accounts, that the sensor is active and transmitting, and that the Oura connection flow was completed.
- You have a G6 or G7: Those devices are not currently supported by Oura’s Glucose feature. The integration flow for Stelo does not make another Dexcom model compatible.
- The sensor session ends early or the sensor fails: Oura directs users to Stelo support for sensor problems. Stelo says it will replace a sensor that fails before its 15-day wear period under its stated replacement policy; this is a vendor policy, not a guarantee that every sensor will last the full period.
- You are outside the United States: Oura currently describes Glucose Tracking as US-only. Changing app settings does not establish availability in another country.
Who is this integration a good fit for?
It may suit you if
- You want to explore how meals, exercise, sleep, and stress relate to glucose trends rather than make treatment decisions.
- You already own a Gen3-or-newer Oura Ring and want glucose context in the same app as your Oura information.
- You live in the United States, meet the phone and account requirements, and are comfortable with the recurring sensor and membership costs.
Look elsewhere if
- You expect the ring to measure glucose without another wearable, or want your existing Dexcom G6 or G7 readings imported to Oura.
- You need clinical alerts or glucose data for insulin dosing or other diabetes-treatment decisions.
- You want glucose tracking without buying an Oura ring and maintaining its membership; Stelo can be used through its own app, while a meter may suit occasional checks or confirmation when recommended.
This is a genuine Oura–Dexcom integration, but it is more accurately an Oura App companion for Stelo than a blood-sugar feature built into the ring.
