Hodinkee reported in January 2026 that Patek Philippe planned to cut U.S. prices by as much as 8% on some models from 1 February, while prices in other regions were expected to rise. Separately, Vacheron Constantin opened its first Concours d’Élégance Horlogère to owners of watches made between 1755 and 1999. The concours registration period has closed; its seven prizes are scheduled for 10 November 2026.
Did Patek Philippe really cut prices by 8%?
That is the maximum reduction Hodinkee reported for some Patek Philippe models in the United States—not a confirmed, across-the-board cut. In its 16 January 2026 report, Hodinkee said the adjustments were expected to take effect on 1 February. It reported a smaller reduction of about 3.4% for high-value and appointment-only models. Hodinkee’s report attributed the figures to people familiar with the matter and said it independently confirmed them with multiple U.S.-based authorized retailers.
The same report said retail prices in other regions were expected to rise by about 4%. The story therefore describes different regional adjustments, not a global price decrease. Hodinkee linked the reported U.S. adjustment to the U.S. tariff rate for Swiss products falling from 39% to 15%; that was reporting context, not an explanation issued by Patek Philippe. The company’s officials in Geneva and New York declined to comment to Hodinkee.
Who can enter Vacheron Constantin’s concours?
The inaugural Vacheron Constantin Concours d’Élégance Horlogère is for owners worldwide of Vacheron Constantin pocket watches and wristwatches produced from 1755 through 1999. The brand describes it as an initiative at the invitation of Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo. Registration ran from 19 January through 30 April 2026 and is now closed.
