Three separate announcements were reported together in November 2025: Google’s Pixel Theme packs software, T-Mobile’s U.S. satellite Text to 911 enrollment, and the Pixel Watch 4’s Indian availability. They serve different audiences and have different current statuses. The named Wicked and SpongeBob theme promotions have expired, T-Mobile’s emergency texting remains subject to compatibility and coverage limits, and Pixel Watch 4 is now an established product on the Google Store India rather than a new debut.

What the Pixel Theme packs feature does
Theme packs are a Google system customization component rather than a conventional app that you open from the app drawer. A pack applies a coordinated set of visual and audio changes in one operation: wallpaper, dynamic color and style, app icons, clock styling, ringtones, alarm and notification sounds, and themed Gboard GIFs or related content. Google describes the concept as personalizing a Pixel “in one tap” in its Google Play listing.
On a supported phone, the normal entry point is Home screen long-press → Wallpaper & style → Theme pack. Google says both the phone and the Theme packs component must be updated before the option appears.
Which phones get it?
Google staged the original rollout. Pixel 7a and newer models received the Wicked pack first; Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7 and 7 Pro were scheduled for a later December 2025 rollout. The Play listing and later coverage indicate broader Pixel compatibility, but the menu can still vary by model, country, Android build and server-side rollout. It is therefore not accurate to promise Theme packs on every Pixel.

Google’s November update details are in the November 2025 Pixel Drop and its Pixel Community announcement.
The limited-time packs
The first pack promoted Wicked: For Good with three styles: For Good, Glinda and Elphaba. Google allowed new downloads only through January 31, 2026. People who downloaded a style could continue using it after that date, but the pack was later removed from the selection interface; by February 2, Google was showing a message that new packs were coming. 9to5Google reported the change.
The March 2026 Pixel Drop then offered SpongeBob SquarePants styles called I’m Ready!, Best Suds and Fan-Sea. Google set May 1, 2026 as the end of availability. As of August 2026, neither named promotion should be presented as available for a new download. APK teardowns can reveal possible future artwork, but they do not confirm a public launch; reports such as this SpongeBob teardown and later theme coverage are not release guarantees.

How to install a Theme pack
- Install the latest Android/system update.
- Open the Play Store, tap your account avatar, choose Manage apps & device, and install pending Theme packs or Pixel customization updates.
- Long-press an empty area of the Home screen.
- Tap Wallpaper & style, then Theme pack.
- Select a pack and tap Edit if you want to omit particular elements.
- Tap Download, then Apply now when the download finishes.
If Apply now is unavailable, Google says the pack may still be downloading. A notification should appear when it is ready; if you take no action, Google’s support page says it may apply automatically at 3 a.m. If the option is missing, restart after updating, verify that your model and region are included, and allow for a phased rollout. An expired promotion cannot be restored through ordinary settings. Sideloading an APK is not a supported default fix and can introduce compatibility, security and update problems.

- Good fit: Pixel owners who want coordinated wallpaper, icons and sounds without configuring a launcher.
- Poor fit: users wanting a large permanent catalog, deep launcher-level controls or no branded seasonal content.
The lasting feature is the integrated control; the content library is the uncertain part. Do not buy a phone solely for a promotional bundle.
What “free satellite SOS for everyone” actually meant
On November 5, 2025, T-Mobile announced free satellite Text to 911 enrollment for users with compatible phones, including eligible customers whose normal service is with Verizon or AT&T. It is intended for parts of the United States where terrestrial cellular coverage is unavailable or inadequate and the handset can see the sky. The precise offer is emergency texting—not unrestricted satellite connectivity.

- The new Google Pixel Watch 5 offers a smarter way to a healthier you.[1,2]; Designed for Gemini Intelligence, get proactive help, and personalized insights from Google Health[3,4]; watch is compatible with Android devices only; not compatible with iOS devices
- Precision-crafted to do it all: The Google Pixel Watch 5 features the domed Actua 360 display with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass and up to 40 hours of battery life[1,5]
- Metrics that matter: Advanced sensors help you stay ahead of your health and wellness; and Google Pixel’s most accurate heart rate tracking is fine-tuned for your activity[6,7]
- Understand your sleep like never before: Your watch captures insights like the time spent in sleep stages to breathing regularity, then summarizes it all in a personalized Sleep Score[8,9]
- Detects loss of pulse, then calls for help: Pixel Watch 5 is the only smartwatch to feature Loss of Pulse Detection, which can prompt a call to emergency services[10]
What is free and what is not
The free element is standalone T-Mobile Text to 911 access after enrollment. General T-Satellite messaging, data and location features remain a paid service or a benefit of eligible T-Mobile plans. T-Mobile’s enrollment information lists full service at $10 per month when it is not included in a qualifying plan. The current enrollment page also states that satellite voice calling, including a voice call to 911, is not supported.
Requirements and procedure
- A compatible smartphone and supported wireless number.
- Enrollment with T-Mobile before an emergency occurs.
- An outdoor location with a view of the sky.
- Loss of, or inadequate, terrestrial service.
T-Mobile says the phone can automatically connect to its satellite network when terrestrial service drops; users do not need a dedicated satellite handset or manual pointing procedure. To send a message, open the native messaging app, enter 911 as the recipient, describe the emergency and send it like a normal text. This is a fallback when voice service is unavailable, not a reason to text instead of calling ordinary 911 where a reliable voice connection exists.

- Delivery can be delayed, or the phone may fail to connect.
- Location or telephone-number information may be incomplete or wrong.
- Moving between terrestrial and satellite coverage can interrupt an exchange.
- A message may be routed to an emergency call center rather than a traditional 911 answering point.
- The center may be delayed or unable to contact local authorities.
- Service can be limited or unavailable at a particular location.
For that reason, hikers, campers, rural workers and travelers should enroll and understand the process before entering a dead zone, but should not treat it as guaranteed coverage.

T-Mobile service versus Pixel-native satellite emergency features
These are different layers. Google’s device-native satellite emergency functionality depends on a supported Pixel model, software, country and other regional conditions. T-Mobile’s service is a carrier offering that can work on compatible devices from multiple carriers after enrollment. T-Mobile says its system defers to native satellite emergency services on supported iPhones and the latest Google Pixel models.
A Pixel 9 or Pixel 10 owner therefore should not assume that every model, country or carrier exposes the same option. Check the phone’s current emergency settings and local support documentation; neither service makes satellite voice calling available.
Pixel Watch 4 in India: current price and specifications
The Pixel Watch 4 is no longer an India debut story. The current official Google Store India page lists a starting price of ₹39,900 and 41 mm and 45 mm sizes. The page has also shown EMI from approximately ₹3,334.97 per month, subject to the store’s financing terms. Treat those figures as seen on August 16–18, 2026; Google can change prices, offers and inventory. Earlier reporting quoted ₹39,900 for a 41 mm Wi-Fi model and ₹43,900 for a 45 mm version, but the current official listing is the better source for present pricing.

What an Indian buyer gets
- 41 mm and 45 mm case choices.
- Google-rated battery life of up to 30 hours for 41 mm and 40 hours for 45 mm.
- Up to 15 hours of charge in 15 minutes, according to Google.
- A 3,000-nit Actua 360 display.
- Dual-frequency GPS.
- ECG, skin-temperature, SpO2, heart-rate, sleep, stress and fitness tracking features.
- Compatibility with most Pixel and Android phones running Android 11 or newer.
- Wear OS 6.0 data-transfer support.
Battery numbers are manufacturer ratings, not independent testing; display behavior, GPS, LTE, workouts and health monitoring can reduce runtime. The watch is not an iPhone-compatible alternative. Google Health Premium features, including Gemini-powered coaching, may require a subscription after any included introductory period. Band and color selections can vary by country or retailer.
Do not assume satellite SOS is available on the Indian watch. The original report described the watch feature as U.S.-limited, while the current Indian product page does not substantiate India support. That capability needs separate, India-specific confirmation before it is treated as a buying reason.
Which announcement matters to you?
If you want Pixel customization
Theme packs are convenient for coordinated changes, but their entertainment tie-ins are temporary. Check Wallpaper & style on an updated, eligible Pixel; do not pay a premium expecting Wicked or SpongeBob to be newly downloadable.
If you need emergency connectivity
Verify compatibility, enroll while you still have normal service and learn the messaging procedure. The free T-Mobile option is valuable for U.S. dead zones, but it is emergency text fallback—not full satellite service, voice calling or a guarantee that authorities will be reached immediately.
If you are buying a Google smartwatch in India
Compare 41 mm and 45 mm fit, the 30–40-hour rated battery range, current Google Store pricing and any Health Premium cost. Pixel Watch 4 is a strong Android-integrated health, GPS and safety watch, but it is a poor match for iPhone owners, buyers seeking multi-day battery life or anyone specifically seeking confirmed Indian satellite SOS.
What remains relevant now
The November 2025 headline bundled three unrelated products. In August 2026, the Theme packs framework remains a Pixel software feature while its named promotional content has expired; T-Mobile’s free satellite Text to 911 is the ongoing U.S. emergency-network offer, with strict device and coverage conditions; and Pixel Watch 4 is an available Indian-market smartwatch rather than a new launch.
