The Seiko Prospex King Samurai SRPE35K1 and SRPE37K1 share the same core diver specification; the practical differences are their dial and stock band. The SRPE35K1 pairs a black dial with a stainless-steel bracelet, while the SRPE37K1 has a white patterned dial and black silicone strap. Choose between them by appearance, how each band suits your wrist and routine, and the price and condition of the specific listing—not by an assumed difference in performance.
SRPE35K1 vs. SRPE37K1: specifications
Seiko’s product information gives the SRPE37 a 44 mm diameter, while Seiko Boutique lists the SRPE35K1 at 43.8 mm. Other published dimensions are close: both are 48.7 mm long and about 12.8 mm thick, with 22 mm lug width. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not measurements of individual examples.

The figures come from the Seiko Boutique SRPE35K1 listing and Seiko USA SRPE37 page. Seiko’s SRPE37 page also specifies 23 jewels and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Both watches have a magnified date and luminous details according to product materials.
What distinguishes the King Samurai
The King Samurai name marks equipment changes relative to the standard Samurai, rather than a different movement. Monochrome’s 2020 launch coverage identifies sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel as upgrades, with the 4R35 retained. The model’s angular case design is shared across the black- and white-dial versions; their readily visible differences are the dial treatment and band configuration, as described in Monochrome’s 2021 hands-on.

Those material and feature descriptions do not establish how well an individual watch resists scratches over time, how accurately it keeps time on the wrist, or how it performs during an actual dive. The 200 m / 20 bar rating is a published specification; Seiko specifically describes the SRPE37 as suitable for scuba diving.
Which one should you get?
Choose the SRPE35K1 for the black dial and bracelet
The SRPE35K1 is the straightforward choice if you want a black dial and prefer its stock stainless-steel bracelet. Its dark look is more restrained than the SRPE37’s white patterned dial. Check the bracelet’s fit and adjustment options with the seller, especially if you are buying online or considering a pre-owned example.

Choose the SRPE37K1 for the white pattern and silicone strap
The SRPE37K1 suits a buyer drawn to a lighter, more conspicuous dial and a black silicone stock strap. The contrast between the white dial and black bezel gives it a different presence even though its basic movement and published water-resistance specification align with the SRPE35.
Check wrist fit rather than relying on the small diameter difference
At roughly 44 mm across and 48.7 mm long, both are substantial watches. The published diameter difference—43.8 mm for the SRPE35K1 versus 44 mm for the SRPE37—is only 0.2 mm and is unlikely to be a useful basis for choosing without trying one on. Case length, thickness, wrist shape, and how the bracelet or strap sits can matter more. If possible, try on the exact reference or compare it with a watch you already know fits you.

Price, stock, and buying checks
Price evidence varies by date and source. Monochrome reported 2020 launch prices of $625 for the SRPE35 and $595 for the SRPE37; those are historical figures, not current offers. Seiko USA’s SRPE37 page displayed $625 when checked for this comparison and showed a stock-notification option. That is one official-page price signal, not a survey of current retailer prices, and availability can change. Current SRPE35 street pricing and inventory were not established.

- Confirm the reference suffix, dial, and included band in the listing: SRPE35K1 is black dial/bracelet; SRPE37K1 is white patterned dial/silicone strap.
- Compare the seller’s current price, condition, return terms, and stated included items. Do not treat launch-era pricing as a present-day benchmark.
- If considering a different band, both references have a published 22 mm lug width. Verify the specific strap’s end shape and compatibility before ordering; lug width alone does not guarantee a particular strap will fit cleanly.
