What is the Green Abyss?
Green Abyss is one model in Swatch’s Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms collection, which references Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms dive-watch heritage. The Fifty Fathoms debuted in 1953, according to Swatch’s June 3, 2025 announcement. The collaboration is a Swatch watch, not a traditional Blancpain model: Blancpain describes the collection as non-limited and says its colors make clear that it is not a traditional Blancpain watch (Blancpain’s collaboration page).
The model name is GREEN ABYSS and its reference is SO35G100. It pairs a vivid green case and bezel with a dark dial, drawing on the Fifty Fathoms look while using Swatch’s materials and movement.

Design details that set it apart
Green case, bezel and dial
The green Bioceramic case and crown frame a black dial with a dark green hue and a vintage Blancpain logo. The green rotating bezel has a deep-black insert; the Japanese specification describes it as counterclockwise rotating and notes vintage Super-LumiNova details.
Water-contact indicator
A dual-color indicator sits at 6 o’clock. Swatch describes it as a sensor that changes color to signal moisture. Treat it as a moisture indicator, not as an independent test or certification of the watch’s current water resistance.

Movement-back illustration and strap
The movement back carries a digital print of Felimare picta, a nudibranch, with the image displayed on the movement rotor. The two-piece NATO-style strap is made from recycled fishing nets, according to the Japan listing.
Movement: what SISTEM51 means here
Swatch says the automatic SISTEM51 mechanical movement has 51 parts arranged in five pre-assembled modules, a Nivachron hairspring for anti-magnetic properties, and a 90-hour power reserve. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured performance figures. The long stated reserve is useful if the watch is left off the wrist for a few days, though actual running time can vary with the movement’s condition and use.

Price and where to buy the Green Abyss
Swatch Group said the Green Abyss would be available from June 7, 2025 at selected Swatch stores worldwide. Its launch terms limited purchases to one watch per person, per store, per day. That launch announcement does not establish present-day inventory or current store policy.
The Japan launch announcement listed ¥60,500 including tax. This is a region- and date-specific reference, not a current global price. For current availability, check Swatch’s official store locator or contact a Swatch store directly; the available announcement does not confirm stock today.

How to assess fit and everyday use
At 42.3 mm across, 14.4 mm thick and 48.0 mm lug-to-lug, the Green Abyss has substantial wrist presence. Diameter alone does not determine fit: the 48.0 mm lug-to-lug span and case thickness also matter, especially on smaller wrists or beneath a close-fitting cuff. If possible, try it on before buying.
Swatch Group Japan states water resistance of 91 m / 300 ft / 9 bar (50 fathoms). That is a published rating, not an endorsement for a specific depth, duration, or activity. Follow the manufacturer’s care guidance and do not treat the moisture indicator as proof that seals are intact.

Green Abyss or a traditional Blancpain Fifty Fathoms?
Choose based on what matters most: the Green Abyss is the colorful Swatch collaboration with a SISTEM51 automatic movement and a manufacturer-stated 90-hour reserve; a traditional Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is a different product category and should not be inferred from the shared name or design references. Blancpain itself distinguishes the collaboration from its traditional watches.
For this model, the most practical trade-offs are its bold green styling and unusual movement illustration against its 42.3 mm diameter, 14.4 mm thickness and 48.0 mm lug-to-lug span. The Japan launch price offers a dated regional benchmark, while current local price and stock need to be checked with Swatch.
