What does the Skipper countdown do?
In a sailing regatta, boats use a timed sequence before the start. The Skipper’s colored countdown subdial is a visual aid for following that pre-start timing, translating a sailing-specific need into the chronograph display. That figure is the manufacturer’s stated reserve, not a result from an independent test. The specification here applies to reference CBS2213.FN6002; it should not be assumed to describe later Skipper editions with different materials or references.
What is the history behind the Heuer Skipper?
TAG Heuer’s account traces its sailing connection to watches made with Abercrombie & Fitch in the mid-1940s, including models with tide indicators. The brand then links its timing relationship with the yacht Intrepid to the boat’s 1967 America’s Cup victory, which it says came by four races to nil.
