The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 x Formula 1 Edition is a 45 mm titanium smartwatch with Formula 1-specific faces, an on-watch F1 app and widget, and a black-and-red strap. Its reference is SBT8A85.EB0417, which identifies this edition rather than other Calibre E5 models. TAG Heuer’s US product page displayed $2,550 when accessed on October 4, 2026; that is a dated US listing price, not a price guarantee for other regions or dates.
What makes the Formula 1 edition different?
The F1 identity goes beyond a themed generic dial. TAG Heuer says this edition includes exclusive Formula 1 watch faces, an F1 app on the watch, a widget, and F1-inspired visual and sound elements. Its product materials describe 24 race-track faces, with circuit-inspired designs connected to Grand Prix weekends. The race-track face can show the current or next Grand Prix and circuit, a time treatment, a gauge for weekend progress, and a seconds indicator. F1 information is not a continuous, guaranteed live feed. TAG Heuer says data updates when the watch starts, when the app is opened, and automatically every six hours. During a Grand Prix weekend, official results and events update approximately hourly, so a session result may take a short time to appear. The 2026 TAG Heuer magazine feature describes season-evolving circuit-inspired designs, schedules, results, and driver and team standings; the FAQ’s cadence is the useful guide to how current the displayed information may be.
Case, display and hardware
The watch has a 45 mm fine-brushed and sand-blasted grade 2 titanium case with black DLC coating, a fixed ceramic bezel, red pushers, and sapphire crystal. TAG Heuer lists a 1.39-inch OLED display at 454 × 454 pixels and water resistance of 50 m. The official listing also specifies a 419 mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100+ chipset, Wi-Fi, GNSS, Bluetooth 5.3, and MFi certification.

Listed sensors are heart-rate, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, microphone, and altimeter. TAG Heuer names its Golf, Sports, and Wellness apps among the included software. The 50 m water-resistance rating is the manufacturer’s stated specification; it does not by itself establish suitability for every water activity. Phone compatibility and battery expectations
TAG Heuer lists compatibility with iOS 18 or later and Android 13 or later. Check your phone’s operating-system version before buying, particularly if you plan to keep the watch through future phone upgrades.

The manufacturer states up to 17 hours in Running Sport mode or up to three days in Low Power mode, and a full charge time of 1 hour 30 minutes. These are TAG Heuer’s stated figures, not independent test results; the stated battery duration depends on the selected mode. The product listing gives the battery capacity as 419 mAh.
Strap and charger compatibility
The included black-and-red bi-material strap is interchangeable, and TAG Heuer says the box also includes a second self-fastening strap embossed with the F1 logo. However, the E5 uses a redesigned attachment: only straps made specifically for Calibre E5 fit. A generic 45 mm strap or an older-generation TAG Heuer Connected strap should not be assumed compatible.

The charging dock is also model-specific. TAG Heuer says docks work only with the model they came with and notes that the E5 dock’s magnet repels other models. Confirm that any replacement strap or dock is explicitly listed for Calibre E5 before ordering. The maker’s strap and charger compatibility FAQ explains the restrictions.

This edition is the clearest fit for someone who wants F1 content integrated into a TAG Heuer Connected watch, rather than merely an F1-themed strap or a downloadable general-purpose face. Its 45 mm coated titanium case, ceramic bezel, and red-and-black styling are also defining parts of the choice. Buyers who do not need the F1 app, widget, exclusive faces, or visual details should compare other Calibre E5 references rather than assuming this edition’s premium is justified by hardware alone.

- F1 information: whether the exclusive faces, widget, app, and stated update cadence suit how you follow race weekends.
- Fit and materials: whether a 45 mm case and titanium-with-black-DLC look work for your wrist and style.
- Phone support: whether your phone meets the listed iOS or Android minimum.
- Battery mode: whether the manufacturer-stated duration for Running Sport or Low Power mode matches your routine.
- Everyday functions: whether the listed sports, wellness, sensor, and connectivity features meet your needs.
- Ownership costs: consider the purchase price for your market, and the E5-specific fit requirement for replacement straps and charging docks.
