What the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 is
TAG Heuer identifies the watch as reference CBW218B.FT8124, an automatic 41 mm Monaco limited to 30 pieces. The brand says it was unveiled at Dubai Watch Week later in 2025. Its defining combination is a rattrapante, or split-seconds, chronograph with an openworked titanium case and gold honeycomb details.
TAG Heuer’s official US product listing gives the edition size and specifications and directs prospective buyers to request information from its advisors. It does not publish a dollar price or establish current inventory. TAG Heuer’s January 19, 2026 magazine article supplies the launch context.
How the split-seconds chronograph works
A split-seconds chronograph, also called a rattrapante, adds a second chronograph hand. When both hands are running together, the split function can stop one to record an intermediate or concurrent interval while the primary chronograph continues; the stopped hand can then catch up. TAG Heuer describes the Air 1’s rattrapante as capturing dual intervals.

The watch uses automatic Calibre TH81-00. TAG Heuer calls it the most complex chronograph it has produced; that is the manufacturer’s characterization, not an independently established ranking. Its published specification lists chronograph timing to 1/10 second, a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour counter and the split-seconds function.
Case, materials and design rationale
The case is grade 5 titanium made using Selective Laser Melting (SLM), an additive-manufacturing process. TAG Heuer describes its structure as hollowed and pairs it with a laser-cut honeycomb structure in solid 18K 2N yellow gold. The fixed bezel and pushers are black DLC-coated titanium; the split-seconds pusher at 9 o’clock is solid 18K 2N yellow gold. The dial is openworked sapphire, and the caseback is sapphire.

TAG Heuer says the hollowed form takes inspiration from racing-car aerodynamics and air-intake geometry, and that it is intended to optimize airflow while reducing weight. Those are the brand’s design rationale: its published materials do not independently measure airflow or quantify a weight reduction.

These are manufacturer-published figures from TAG Heuer’s US product page. The stated 30 m water resistance is a specification, not a specific swimming or diving recommendation.
