How to find and change a Pixel Watch face
Google says you can browse and select faces on the watch or in the Pixel Watch app. On the watch, start by pressing and holding the current face, then swipe through the available choices. Select a face, or choose to edit it before applying it.

Choose information you expect to check on your wrist, and compare how different layouts look and read on your watch. The official sources describe customization options, but do not establish that any particular face is best for readability or battery life.
Use personal photos with Google Photos

Check third-party face compatibility before installing
Older recommendations may no longer point to faces that can be installed from Google Play. Google announced that legacy AndroidX/Wearable Support Library faces could no longer be newly published from January 27, 2025. From January 14, 2026, users could no longer install legacy faces from Play, and developers could no longer update them there. Google says already-installed legacy faces continue to work.
Google says developers should migrate faces to Watch Face Format to continue publishing them on Google Play. Before choosing a third-party face, open its current Play listing and check that it supports your specific Pixel Watch and Wear OS version. Can I use my own photos as a Pixel Watch face?
Google’s Photos face can use up to 30 personal photos. Google recommends that the relevant Pixel Watch and Google Photos apps be up to date.
Do third-party Pixel Watch faces still work?
Some may, but check each face’s current Play listing for compatibility with your watch and Wear OS version. Google says legacy faces already installed continue to work, but users have not been able to install legacy faces from Play since January 14, 2026.
Can I rely on an old “best Pixel Watch faces” list?
Not without checking its recommendations. Face availability and compatibility can change, and Google’s legacy-format transition means an older listing may no longer be installable from Play. Verify each face in its current listing before choosing it.
