What is the Tissot Heritage Petite Seconde?
It is a stainless-steel, hand-wound dress watch in Tissot’s Heritage line. The reviewed model has a silvered-white dial with vertical brushing, printed Arabic numerals, slender leaf-shaped hands and a recessed small-seconds register at six. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, while a display caseback reveals the movement. Fratello and Hodinkee describe a 42 mm case; Fratello reports 52 mm lug-to-lug. Fratello Watches and Hodinkee reviewed the watch in 2018.
How does it wear?
The 42 mm diameter and 52 mm lug-to-lug measurement make this a substantial watch for a vintage-inspired dress design. Balazs Ferenczi of Fratello said it felt somewhat too large for his preference even on his 7.5-inch (19 cm) wrist, though he found it wearable beneath a jacket cuff. Hodinkee’s reviewer also noted the size, but called the watch comfortable. These are reviewers’ impressions, not a fit test across wrist sizes; if possible, try the watch on and pay attention to how far the lugs extend past your wrist.
Thickness is reported differently: Fratello lists 12.1 mm, while Hodinkee gives 11.35 mm. Neither figure should be treated as a definitive measurement for every reference or variant. The supplied leather strap was described by Ferenczi as soft and comfortable. Fratello and Hodinkee report a 20 mm lug-side strap width, which may help when considering a replacement; confirm the fit and buckle details for the exact watch.

What stands out on the dial—and what is missing?
Distinctive, restrained styling
The dial’s vertical brushing, printed Arabic numerals and small-seconds subdial give it a clearly mid-century character without relying on a busy layout. Ferenczi praised its clean, elegant appearance. Hodinkee highlighted the execution of the typography and hands. The recessed seconds register adds visual depth while leaving the main dial easy to read at a glance.
No lume for low-light reading
The dial has no luminous material. That is a practical limitation if you expect to read the time in darkness or dim conditions; the slim hands and printed numerals do not provide a luminous fallback.

What movement is inside, and how long is the power reserve?
The watch uses the hand-wound ETA 6498-1, a 17-jewel movement derived from a pocket-watch design. Fratello and Hodinkee report a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and a 46-hour power reserve. Because it is manual-winding, the wearer winds it rather than relying on wrist motion to keep it running. Through the display back, Fratello notes Geneva stripes and blued screws—an appealing part of the watch for owners who enjoy seeing the mechanics.

What happened to “Antimagnetique”?
Launch-era reporting says the production dial omitted the word “Antimagnetique.” Fratello reported Tissot’s explanation that the wording appeared on an earlier prototype as a reference to the 1943 original, but was removed from the production model. Hodinkee also questioned the relationship between that wording and the watch’s actual magnetic resistance. The cited coverage does not provide an independent magnetic-resistance test, so the prototype wording should not be read as a verified performance claim.

Prices reported at launch in 2018 are historical, not current offers: Fratello listed €980 including German taxes, while Hodinkee and SJX reported a US launch price of $995; SJX also reported S$1510.
