The Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar is a legacy multifunction watch built around touch-operated outdoor and timing tools. The available manual identifies the model family as T-Touch Solar E84 and lists reference T091.420.46.051.01; confirm that reference on the watch and its paperwork before applying these details to a particular listing. This is a document-based review, not a hands-on test: it explains the functions and model distinctions that can be established, while leaving real-world performance questions open.
Which Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar is this review about?
The available English manual transcription identifies the watch as the T-Touch Solar E84 and gives reference T091.420.46.051.01. The transcription is hosted by a third party, so match the reference against the case, warranty card, or other documentation for the individual watch rather than assuming every watch sold under the Expert Solar name is identical. Read the E84 manual transcription.
Tissot’s US support index continues to list documentation categories for both T-Touch Expert and T-Touch Solar E84. Tissot also says users can register a watch to access its specific manual and warranty-validity information. Check Tissot’s manuals and support index.
What functions does the E84 manual document?
The manual describes analog time remaining continuously visible alongside digital displays. Touching the crystal opens these documented functions:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Weather
- Altimeter
- Chronograph
- Compass
- Alarm
- Countdown
That is the reliable basis for describing the E84 as a multifunction instrument. The available material does not establish independent results for compass accuracy, altitude readings, solar charging, battery runtime, or water resistance. Those are practical questions to check against the specific watch and its condition, not conclusions to infer from a feature list.
How does it compare with other watches called T-Touch Expert?
Tissot’s product page for the T-Touch Expert Titanium, reference T013.420.47.202.00, describes a related Expert model, not the E84 reference reviewed here. Its specifications provide useful family context but should not be transferred to T091.420.46.051.01 without an E84-specific source.

Is the T-Touch Connect Solar the successor?
Swatch Group describes the T-Touch Connect Solar as a descendant of the T-Touch collection that carries over many Expert Solar basics. The company lists perpetual calendar, countdown, timers, alarms, weather functions, and altimeter among those basics, then adds smartphone-linked capabilities such as activity tracking, calls, and app notifications through its operating system. What this review cannot confirm
The documented functions establish what the E84 is designed to offer, not how a particular example performs today. No hands-on testing, owner reports, runtime measurements, compass checks, water-resistance checks, or independent model comparisons are available here. For operating procedures such as setting the time, calibrating the altimeter, or activating the compass, use the manual matched to the watch’s verified reference rather than relying on a generic procedure or an unrelated Expert model’s documentation.
