The current Traska Venturer GMT Ref. 4217 combines an independently adjustable local-hour hand with a 24-hour GMT hand and internal rotating bezel, giving travelers a practical way to follow home time and another time zone. Its 38.5 mm case and 150 m water-resistance rating make it worth considering for daily wear as well as travel, but the key trade-offs are a bezel that one reviewer found takes care to set precisely and a current listed price of $950 USD.
What the current Venturer GMT offers
TRASKA’s current Steel Blue listing identifies the watch as Ref. 4217. It has a 316L stainless-steel case and bracelet, sapphire crystal, 150 m water resistance, and an internal rotating 24-hour bezel operated by a crown at 10 o’clock. The crown at 3 o’clock sets the time and date. These are specifications and claims from the manufacturer, not independent test results. TRASKA’s current product listing describes it as “Designed to be worn without fear, the Venturer is water resistant to 150 meters.”
The internal bezel is the model’s most distinctive interface. Alongside the central hour and minute hands, a separate 24-hour hand tracks a second time zone. The bezel provides another 24-hour reference, so it can be used to follow an additional zone if you are willing to keep track of its offset. It also means setting that reference involves the crown at 10 rather than a conventional external bezel.
How its traveler GMT works
The Venturer uses the Miyota 9075, a traveler- or flyer-style GMT movement. Its local hour hand adjusts independently when you change time zones, while the 24-hour hand continues to show home time. That distinction matters: on a caller-style GMT, the local hour hand generally cannot be moved independently in the same way, making it less convenient when you are the one crossing time zones.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Use the independently adjustable local hour hand to set the destination’s local time without losing the home-time reference.
- Read home time from the separate 24-hour GMT hand.
- If useful, rotate the internal 24-hour bezel to track an additional zone relative to the GMT hand; the 10 o’clock crown controls it.
The movement supports hand-winding, hacking seconds, and a date display. TRASKA lists a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour and a 42-hour power reserve; Miyota’s specification table gives the caliber 9075 the same frequency and approximately 42 hours of reserve. Miyota’s movement specification table is the primary source for those caliber figures.
Case size, bracelet and wearing experience
In a June 17, 2026 review, Jorg Weppelink of Fratello Watches reports dimensions of 38.5 mm across, 12.1 mm thick including the box-style sapphire crystal, and 46.1 mm from lug to lug. These are the reviewer’s reported measurements, not measurements made for this article. The size figures offer a useful starting point for assessing fit, though wrist shape and personal preference still matter.

Weppelink describes the updated case and bracelet as comfortable and more refined, and notes polished concave cutouts on the case and bezel, a redesigned dial and a more detailed bracelet. Those are one reviewer’s impressions, not a guarantee of how the watch will feel on every wrist. He also found that the inner bezel can take care to set precisely. Read the June 2026 Fratello review for the reviewer’s full account of the latest update.
TRASKA describes the Ref. 4217’s solid-steel bracelet as quick-release and tapering from 21 mm at the lugs to 16 mm. Its listing says the removable links use flat-head screws and the bracelet has six micro-adjustment positions. Confirm those details on the exact dial and regional listing you intend to buy, since product configurations can change.

Hardening, water resistance and lume: what is established
TRASKA says its proprietary steel-hardening treatment brings the case and bracelet to 1,200 HV. That is a manufacturer-stated hardness figure, not evidence from an independently reported real-world scratch test. Buyers should treat the treatment as a claimed durability measure rather than assume the watch cannot be scratched.
The brand’s generation-history page says its 2025 update moved from standard Swiss-made BGW9 lume to Grade A BGW9, and claims an 8% increase in lume performance after 10 minutes of sufficient UV or sunlight activation. The figure is TRASKA’s claim; it is not accompanied here by an independent lume test. The history page also recounts earlier changes: the second generation introduced the 9075 traveler GMT, the third added a tool-less micro-adjust buckle, and the fourth added a screw-down crown for the internal bezel, revised end links and a sunburst-finished external bezel. TRASKA’s numbered chronology is the brand’s account of the model’s evolution. TRASKA’s Venturer history describes those updates.

Price and what to compare before buying
TRASKA’s Steel Blue product listing showed $950 USD when accessed in 2026. Price and availability can change, so check the listing for the current figure and the configuration on offer before ordering. The evidence available here does not establish a comprehensive ranking against other travel watches; a useful comparison should focus on the details that affect your own use.
- GMT mechanism: Check whether the local hour hand moves independently when you change time zones, or whether the watch uses a caller-style arrangement.
- Time-zone display: Consider whether the 24-hour hand is enough, or whether you will actually use the additional internal bezel—and whether its crown-operated setting suits you.
- Fit and adjustment: Compare diameter, thickness including the crystal, lug-to-lug length, bracelet taper and the available micro-adjustment.
- Build and intended use: Weigh the stated water resistance, sapphire crystal, crown arrangement and bracelet construction against how you plan to wear the watch.
- Durability claims: Distinguish TRASKA’s stated 1,200 HV treatment from independently demonstrated scratch resistance.
Who should consider the Venturer GMT?
The Ref. 4217 makes the most sense for someone who wants a traveler GMT’s independently adjustable local hour hand, values a separate home-time display, and likes the idea of an internal bezel for another zone. Its reported dimensions, steel bracelet and 150 m manufacturer-stated water resistance also make it a plausible everyday option, subject to personal fit and preferences.

It is less compelling if you want the simplest possible GMT display, would rarely use a second time-zone reference, or expect the hardened-steel claim to mean scratch-proof. The internal bezel’s setting feel deserves particular attention: the latest Fratello reviewer found it distinctive but sometimes fiddly to position precisely. Accuracy and long-term reliability should not be inferred from the movement specification alone. TRASKA says it regulates movements in four positions and gives its typical 9-series range as -10 to +20 seconds per day, but that is the maker’s stated process and tolerance, not a measured result for any individual Venturer.
