The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time is built around a practical travel-watch idea: keep a second time zone visible alongside the local time, then adapt the watch’s bracelet or strap to the occasion. The details vary by generation, however. The steel 7900V/110A-B333 documented in 2018 and the titanium Cardinal Points models introduced in 2026 are distinct executions, not one interchangeable specification set.
What makes the Overseas Dual Time a travel watch?
Its defining complication displays a second time zone, useful for keeping home time in view while travelling. On the 2018 7900V/110A-B333, the listed functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, GMT and an AM/PM indicator. Vacheron Constantin’s description of the 2026 Cardinal Points models identifies an orange-tipped dual-time hand for home time and a day/night indicator to help distinguish the time there. The layout and specifications should therefore be read against the specific reference, rather than generalized across the family.
The collection’s other travel-minded feature is its interchangeable bracelet-and-strap system. It offers a way to change the watch’s feel and appearance without changing watches; what is included and what fits depend on the reference. Vacheron Constantin says the Overseas collection was reinvented in 2016 and emphasizes interchangeable bracelet and strap options in its current Canadian English Overseas collection listing.

The 2018 measurements and performance figures are retailer-review specifications for 7900V/110A-B333, not a specification sheet for the titanium watches. Likewise, the 2026 campaign’s movement and display details should not be used to fill in specifications absent from its accessible product information.

Keep home time visible
A second time-zone indication gives the wearer a reference to home while local time remains the primary time to read. That can be useful when coordinating calls, tracking a departure or simply avoiding mental conversion between zones. On Cardinal Points, Vacheron Constantin specifically describes the orange-tipped hand as the home-time reference.
Use the day/night cue to avoid a time-zone mistake
A second time such as 8:00 is ambiguous without knowing whether it is morning or evening. The current Cardinal Points description says a day/night indicator helps with reading across time zones. The 2018 steel reference instead lists an AM/PM indicator. These descriptions concern different executions; they do not establish that every Overseas Dual Time has an identical dial layout.

The available descriptions do not explain a step-by-step setting procedure, so this article does not infer how to adjust local time or the second zone. Consult the manual for the exact reference before changing the display, particularly when handling date settings.
Is the 2018 steel reference practical for travel?
On paper, the 7900V/110A-B333 combines a recognizable travel complication with substantial everyday specifications: a 41 mm steel case, 60-hour power reserve and 150 m water resistance, as listed by The 1916 Company. Its stated package of bracelet, rubber strap and alligator-leather strap, plus quick-release lugs, makes the interchangeability more than a collection-level promise for this particular reference. Those are source-reported specifications, not independent test results.

The case dimensions are useful context when judging fit: the retailer review reports 13.1 mm thickness and 48.9 mm lug-to-lug in addition to the 41 mm diameter. Whether those measurements feel comfortable depends on the wearer and wrist; no hands-on fit assessment is established here.
What changed with the 2026 Cardinal Points models?
Cardinal Points is a separate titanium iteration of the Overseas Dual Time, presented in 2026 in four colorways named for the cardinal directions. Vacheron Constantin identifies the in-house Calibre 5110 DT/3 and the orange-tipped home-time hand with day/night indication. Fratello’s April 2026 report adds model and strap details, while the official collection page establishes the current collection identity. Do not transfer the steel 7900V’s 150 m water resistance, 60-hour reserve or original strap package to these titanium references unless the individual reference’s specifications confirm them.

Which version should a traveller consider?
- Choose by reference, not just by collection name. The 2018 steel 7900V and 2026 titanium Cardinal Points differ in material and documented movement/display details.
- Prioritize the display you can read quickly. Check how the second zone and day/night or AM/PM cue are presented on the exact watch you are considering.
- Verify what is in the package. The steel review specifies three included wear options and quick-release lugs; do not assume the same contents or fit across other references.
- Confirm the figures that matter to your use. Check the reference’s own published specifications for water resistance, power reserve and case dimensions rather than relying on another generation’s numbers.
