Its heart-rate and step-count accuracy drew criticism in a hands-on review, and its essential iWear app has no established current support. Consider it only if it is exceptionally cheap, returnable, and you confirm the app pairs with your phone; skip it for dependable fitness or health tracking.
What the X9 Plus is—and what it is not
The X9 Plus in this review is an older generic smart wristband, not a modern smartwatch. The name is reused on unrelated products, so a listing should match the BLE 4.0 band with a small rectangular OLED screen and the proprietary iWear companion app. The 2017 review described a metal-look case, touchscreen, vibration alerts, and rubber or metal strap versions. Its appeal was a low price and a long feature list, rather than a mature software platform. The Tech Hacker’s review dates to February 8, 2017.
That review cited about $25 as the regular price and a $19.99 Gearbest flash sale; another 2017 review mentioned about $22.39 for a metal-strap model. These are historical prices, not current offers. A surviving Geekbuying listing identifies the product but does not, by itself, establish current stock, a current price, or reliable fulfillment.
Specifications: claims, not a definitive specification sheet
Descriptions of the X9 Plus agree on its basic design but conflict on several numbers and feature details. Treat the following as seller or review claims, not verified specifications for every unit.

A GoodonGood reseller page lists a 3-axis accelerometer, NS1882 processor, 100 mAh battery, IP67 rating, and old Android/iOS requirements. Other listings report 105 mAh or as many as 20 standby days, so these should not be treated as settled values.
Features and real-world performance
Advertised functions include step counting, distance estimates, sleep monitoring, heart-rate, blood-oxygen and blood-pressure readings, call and text reminders, alarms, sedentary prompts, anti-lost alerts, and raise-to-wake. A feature appearing in a listing does not establish that it works reliably; a numerical reading is not necessarily useful, and none of these seller claims makes the band a medical device.

The strongest practical concern is measurement accuracy. In a hands-on review, the X9 Plus heart-rate reading remained around 80 beats per minute during exercise while a Xiaomi Mi Band 1 Pulse showed approximately 127 BPM; the reviewer also described the pedometer as inaccurate. That is one review, not proof that every unit behaves identically, but it is a substantial warning, and there is no reliable current validation for the particular unit a buyer might receive. Wovow’s review also noted app-language limitations.
- Do not use its heart-rate reading to set exercise zones or make medical decisions.
- Treat blood-pressure and blood-oxygen functions as unvalidated wellness estimates; do not use them to diagnose or manage a condition.
- If you have symptoms or a health concern, use an appropriate medical device and consult a qualified clinician.
iWear, phone compatibility, and pairing
The band depends on iWear for setup and much of its practical value. The 2017 review and reseller listings identify iWear, but current maintenance, privacy documentation, availability in every country, and compatibility with current Android and iOS versions are not established. An older review reported limited language support, including an interface that could appear in Chinese unless the phone language was set to English.

Possible failure points include the app disappearing from an app store, account creation or synchronization no longer working, notification permissions being reset, or modern background restrictions stopping alerts. A generic health app also deserves scrutiny before granting access to personal or health-related information. Avoid random APK mirrors: installing an unverifiable app is a security risk, not a dependable workaround. If a trusted app store does not offer a usable iWear app, it is safer to pass on the band.
Practical setup path
- Charge the band with its supplied magnetic cable.
- Install iWear only from a legitimate app store or a QR code supplied with the device, and review the developer and permissions before installing.
- Enable Bluetooth and any nearby-device permissions the phone requests.
- Open iWear, create or sign into an account if required, and add or scan for the X9 Plus from inside the app.
- Allow call, SMS, notification, and background permissions if you want those functions; exact settings vary by phone and operating-system version.
- Set the time, alarms, sedentary reminders, and alert preferences in the app, then confirm synchronization and notifications before relying on them.
If pairing fails
- If you paired the band from the phone’s Bluetooth settings first, remove that pairing and start again inside iWear.
- Toggle Bluetooth, restart the phone and band, and charge the band for several minutes.
- Reinstall iWear from a trusted source and check whether it still supports your phone’s operating system.
- If possible, try a second compatible phone. If iWear is unavailable or cannot recognize the band, treat the product as unusable rather than assuming the hardware can work independently.
IP67, charging, and the risks of old stock
IP67 is a listed rating, not permission to swim with this band. The 2017 Tech Hacker review said its unit survived 15–20 minutes in a swimming pool, but that anecdotal test is not a manufacturer-backed use recommendation or evidence that every unit is safe in water. Sweat or rain may be reasonable subject to the seller’s terms; avoid showering unless the actual manufacturer explicitly approves it, and do not recommend swimming, hot tubs, or salt water. Dry charging contacts fully before charging.

Because this is an old product, unused stock can still have a degraded lithium-polymer battery. The magnetic charger may be proprietary and difficult to replace. Check that the cable is included and that the return policy covers a battery that will not hold a charge.
Who should buy it—and who should skip it?
Consider it only if all of these are true
- The total delivered price is very low and the seller accepts returns.
- The listing is specifically for the BLE 4.0 X9 Plus with the 0.95-inch OLED and iWear, rather than another product sharing the X9 Plus name.
- You have confirmed that iWear is available from a trusted source and pairs with your phone.
- You need only basic steps, vibration alerts, alarms, or notifications and accept that app and replacement-part support could disappear.
Skip it if any of these matter
- Accurate heart-rate, blood-pressure, blood-oxygen, or dependable sleep data.
- Swimming, reliable water protection, GPS, workout modes, contactless payments, music controls, or a modern color display.
- Guaranteed current-phone compatibility, firmware updates, data export, strong privacy controls, warranty support, or replacement accessories.
- The delivered price approaches that of a currently supported fitness band.
Current alternatives with clearer support
These products are not direct price equivalents to a 2017 bargain band. They are more sensible starting points if current software support and a maintained ecosystem matter more than the lowest possible purchase price; verify regional availability and price before buying.

Xiaomi’s official Mi Fitness app listing provides a clearer current software route than the unverified iWear situation. Fitbit’s current app listing is another supported ecosystem; Google’s US product page has shown $99.95 regular pricing and a temporary $79.95 sale in separate indexed results, so neither figure should be assumed current.
