OMEGA announced the 42 mm Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional in 18K Moonshine Gold on 13 January 2026. Its reference is 310.60.42.50.01.002. The “reverse panda” nickname describes its black main dial and white subdials; it shares the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 with the steel version announced alongside it.
What is the Moonshine Gold Reverse Panda Speedmaster?
It is a gold version of the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, not a separate movement or collection. OMEGA’s announcement identifies the watch as a 42 mm model in 18K Moonshine Gold. Its steel sibling is reference 310.30.42.50.01.004. OMEGA’s 13 January 2026 announcement introduced both models.
OMEGA describes Moonshine Gold as its own long-lasting yellow gold alloy. That is the manufacturer’s characterization of the material, rather than an independent durability measurement.
Why is the dial called reverse panda?
“Reverse panda” is a descriptive nickname: the main dial is black, while the two recessed subdials are white. OMEGA describes a double-plate step dial, with a polished, varnished and lacquered black upper plate over white varnished, lacquered subdial bases. The minute track is white on the main dial and black on the subdials, emphasizing the inverted contrast.
