The two references share their 38 mm case size and Calibre 7136 movement. The documented differences are the case material, dial colour and reference number.

The brand says the calendar functions are adjusted solely with the crown, without additional tools, and attributes three patented mechanisms to Calibre 7136. These are manufacturer claims; the product information cited here does not independently test the setting system or explain the mechanisms in detail.
How do you set the calendar?
AP states that the calendar functions are adjusted through the crown alone, rather than with additional tools. The cited product descriptions do not give a step-by-step setting sequence, so use the instructions supplied with the specific watch or ask an AP boutique or qualified watchmaker before changing calendar indications.

How do these differ from AP’s other current perpetual calendars?
Do not confuse these 38 mm Calibre 7136 models with the openworked Calibre 7139 perpetual calendars listed on AP’s current releases page. That page identifies two 41 mm Calibre 7139 models among its 2026 novelties. The references and sizes are distinct; the 41 mm models are not variants of the two 38 mm watches covered here.
The Royal Oak collection page places both 38 mm references within the collection. AP dates the Royal Oak’s debut to 1972, a collection-history detail rather than the launch date of these specific perpetual calendars.
