These were prices in BGR’s April 1, 2025 deals roundup—not verified offers today. The headline Apple Watch was a Renewed Premium GPS model, not a confirmed new or cellular watch; the Roku listing was described as a 55-inch TV, but its manufacturer and model are not established here. Prices, stock, sellers, coupons and purchase terms can change, so check the retailer listing before deciding.
BGR said several promotions were continuing Amazon deals after its Big Spring Sale. The original roundup also disclosed that BGR may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Its historical prices are useful as a dated snapshot, but the listed reference prices alone do not establish that any offer was unusually good. Read the original BGR roundup.
The four headline deals at a glance
| Product | Price shown April 1, 2025 | Configuration or condition stated | Best fit | Key uncertainty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beats Pill | $99.95, compared with a stated $150 | Portable Bluetooth speaker | Someone seeking a portable speaker, if the listing is authentic and covered by acceptable returns and warranty | Seller, condition and fulfillment details are not established by the roundup |
| Apple Watch Series 9 | $229.50, compared with a stated $329 | Renewed Premium; GPS; 41mm; Midnight aluminum case and Midnight Sport Band in reproduced listing details | An iPhone owner comfortable buying renewed electronics after checking condition and protections | Battery health, seller, included accessories and current compatibility need checking |
| Roku smart TV | $269.99, compared with a stated $350 | Described as 55 inches | A buyer seeking an inexpensive secondary-room TV, if the exact model meets their needs | Manufacturer, model, resolution, ports and warranty are not established |
| Crest 3D White Advanced Luminous Mint | $11.99; described as 20% off | Four 3.7-ounce tubes; displayed unit price was about $0.81 per ounce | Someone who already uses the product and will use the multipack | Current listing, pack details and any subscription setting need checking |
All prices and reference prices in the table are historical figures reported in the April 1, 2025 BGR article. They do not establish present availability or value against prices at other retailers.
Apple Watch Series 9: check the renewed condition before the price
The watch offer deserves the most careful reading. The listed $229.50 applied to a Renewed Premium, GPS, 41mm Series 9. The reproduced product details name a Midnight aluminum case and Midnight Sport Band; the article described the offer as limited-stock. GPS does not mean cellular service, and the offer should not be mistaken for a new retail watch.
#1 Best Overall
- The Beats Pill delivers powerful, room-filling sound. The bigger, bespoke racetrack woofer displaces 90% more air volume, packing more of a punch with deeper, fuller bass.
- The Beats Pill has up to 24 hours of battery life for all-day playback and can be used to charge your phone or other devices via USB-C cable.
- The portable speaker is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance for outstanding durability and includes a removable lanyard and soft-grip silicone backing to make it easy to take with you.
- The redesigned tweeter provides extra stability for crisp highs and rich mid-range tones while the woofer’s material and structure helps minimize low-end distortion even at high volumes
- Enjoy high-resolution lossless audio from your Beats Pill by connecting it to your laptop or other compatible devices via the USB-C cable
Who might consider it
An iPhone owner who wants an Apple smartwatch at a lower historical purchase price might consider a renewed Series 9 if the current seller provides clear condition information and meaningful return and warranty protection. A newer model may make more sense for someone prioritizing newer hardware or a longer remaining support horizon. The historical price by itself is not enough to settle that comparison.
What to verify on the live listing
- Battery-health disclosure, cosmetic grade and what “Renewed Premium” means under that seller’s terms.
- Whether the watch has been removed from the previous owner’s Apple Account and Activation Lock, and whether the seller guarantees that it can be paired.
- Whether the pictured band and a suitable charger are included, along with packaging and any other accessories.
- The return window, warranty provider, warranty duration and process for resolving defects.
- That the model is GPS rather than cellular if cellular service is essential, and that it is compatible with the intended iPhone and the watchOS version in use. Check Apple’s watch compatibility support rather than relying on an old compatibility list; Apple’s Watch page provides product information.
Verdict: Consider only if the exact renewed unit, battery condition and protections are acceptable. Skip it if you need cellular service, cannot confirm Activation Lock removal, or require a new device with clearly stated condition.
Beats Pill: a historical speaker price, not a verified listing
BGR listed the Beats Pill portable Bluetooth speaker at $99.95 against a stated $150 reference price. The roundup highlighted waterproofing and up to 24 hours of battery life. Those descriptions should not substitute for the manufacturer’s rating and conditions: consult the Beats Pill product information and confirm what applies to the exact model being sold.
Rank #2
- The Beats Pill delivers powerful, room-filling sound. The bigger, bespoke racetrack woofer displaces 90% more air volume, packing more of a punch with deeper, fuller bass.

Who might consider it
It may suit someone wanting a compact portable speaker, provided the live offer is for a new, authentic unit and has acceptable warranty and return coverage. It is not a direct replacement for a smart speaker, a multiroom setup or a home-theater system.
Checkout checks
- Confirm whether the unit is new, refurbished or sold by a marketplace seller, and who fulfills it.
- Check the technical water-resistance rating and usage limits instead of treating “waterproof” as protection against every kind of water exposure.
- Read the battery-life conditions; “up to” figures may depend on listening conditions such as volume.
- Verify USB-C charging, whether a power adapter is included, and the speaker’s stereo-pairing or multi-speaker capabilities.
- Confirm compatibility with the phone you use, plus the seller’s return and warranty terms.
Verdict: Potentially worth considering for portable listening if the actual listing and protections check out; the roundup does not establish the seller, condition or present-day price.
Roku TV: identify the television before judging the deal
The roundup described a 55-inch Roku smart TV at $269.99, compared with a stated $350. “Roku TV” identifies the smart-TV platform, not necessarily the television manufacturer. Roku’s Roku TV information can explain the platform, but the retailer listing’s model number is needed to assess the actual screen.
Rank #3
- The Beats Pill delivers powerful, room-filling sound. The bigger, bespoke racetrack woofer displaces 90% more air volume, packing more of a punch with deeper, fuller bass.

- Enjoy high-resolution lossless audio from your Beats Pill by connecting it to your laptop or other compatible devices via the USB-C cable
Who might consider it
A low-cost 55-inch set could be suitable for a bedroom, rental, dorm or other secondary room if its specifications and warranty are adequate. A Roku interface does not imply premium picture or sound performance. Picture quality, brightness, motion handling, speakers and processing can vary substantially among sets using the platform.
Model details to check
- Manufacturer, full model number and screen size.
- Resolution—4K or 1080p—and supported HDR formats.
- Number of HDMI ports, eARC availability, gaming features and input latency.
- Wi-Fi standard, manufacturer warranty and return terms.
- Whether the offer is for a new television or a marketplace listing, and whether shipping changes the effective price.
Verdict: Consider it for a secondary room only after confirming the model and minimum specifications you need. Without those details, the historical price cannot establish whether this was a good TV deal.

The $11.99 offer was for four 3.7-ounce tubes of Crest 3D White Advanced Luminous Mint—not a single tube. BGR described it as 20% off and showed an approximate unit price of $0.81 per ounce. The per-ounce figure is useful only if the pack, price and checkout conditions match and you will use all four tubes.
Rank #4

Whitening toothpaste is not the same as whitening strips or dental-office bleaching: it is an everyday toothpaste purchase, and no particular shade improvement is guaranteed by the historical offer. See Crest’s toothpaste information for product details.
- Check the count, tube size, flavor and fluoride information on the live listing.
- Look for subscription or auto-replenishment enrollment, coupon requirements, seller and fulfillment details.
- Consider whether you can use the multipack before its expiration or freshness date.
Verdict: A practical candidate if you already use this toothpaste and the effective price beats your usual alternative. Skip the multipack if you will not use it or are seeking a more intensive whitening treatment.

How to judge a deal when you reach checkout
- Confirm the live price and eligibility. Check whether the discount requires a clipped coupon, membership, subscription, account-specific offer or other condition; include shipping and taxes when comparing totals.
- Match the exact item. For electronics, verify model, size, generation, connectivity and condition. For the toothpaste, match both pack count and tube size.
- Check the seller and protections. Marketplace listings can change seller, condition, fulfillment and included accessories while retaining a similar title. Read the actual return and warranty terms, especially for renewed electronics.
- Compare against alternatives and your use case. A stated “was” price is not proof of typical market value. Compare reputable current listings and ask whether a secondary-room TV, renewed watch or multipack fits what you actually need.
Because the source is a dated deal article, it cannot establish current price, inventory, seller, shipping, warranty or return terms for any item. The listed promotions may have expired or changed.
