This was a historical roundup, not a live deals page: BGR published it on April 7, 2025. Its headline offers included a black titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2 for $741.89, a TP-Link Deco Wi-Fi 6 mesh system for $149.99, TurboTax Home & Business at 26% off, and a Ring Doorbell listed at $55. The prices below are the offers BGR advertised then; availability, terms and prices may have changed.
What the headline deals included
BGR’s April 7, 2025 Monday roundup covered Apple hardware, networking, tax software, smart-home devices, appliances, audio, TVs, gaming and accessories. The headline rounded the Apple Watch price to $742; the listed price was $741.89. These are historical advertised prices, not confirmed offers today.
| Deal | Advertised April 7, 2025 | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch Ultra 2 | $741.89; $799 comparison price | Black titanium finish; BGR’s price was below Apple’s cited $799 U.S. starting price for this generation. |
| TP-Link Deco mesh Wi-Fi | $149.99 | Wi-Fi 6 system; advertised coverage of 6,500 square feet. The exact Deco model and package details are not established here. |
| TurboTax Home & Business | 26% off | A promotion associated with the approaching April 15, 2025 federal filing deadline for most taxpayers. |
| Ring Doorbell | $55 | Headline price only: exact model, seller, condition and purchase requirements are not verified in the accessible article text. |
Apple Watch Ultra 2: the most substantial watch offer
BGR listed the black titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2 at $741.89 against a $799 comparison price. Apple’s September 2024 announcement gives $799 as the U.S. starting price for the generation and confirms the black titanium finish (Apple announcement). The discount was therefore modest relative to that reference price, and the offer should not be read as available now.
Who the Ultra suits
The Ultra is a large, rugged option for people who want outdoor, endurance-sport or water-sport features. Apple lists a 49mm case, up to 36 hours of battery life under its stated testing conditions, 100-meter water resistance, IP6X dust resistance and a display rated at up to 2,000 nits in its technical specifications. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of identical battery life or performance in every use.

![Apple Watch Ultra 2 [GPS + Cellular, 49mm] - Titanium Case With White Ocean Band, One Size (Renewed)](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41gGnPrmuQL._SL160_.jpg)
- WHY APPLE WATCH ULTRA 2 — Rugged, capable, and built to meet the demands of endurance athletes, outdoor adventurers, and water sport enthusiasts — with a specialized band for each. The S9 SiP enables a superbright display and a magical new way to quickly and easily interact with your Apple Watch without touching the display. Up to 36 hours of battery life and 72 hours in Low Power Mode.
- CARBON NEUTRAL — Apple Watch Ultra 2 paired with the latest Alpine Loop or Trail Loop is carbon neutral. Learn more about Apple’s commitment to the environment at apple.com/2030.
- EXTREMELY RUGGED, INCREDIBLY CAPABLE — 49mm corrosion-resistant titanium case. Large Digital Crown and Customizable Action button for instant control over a variety of functions. 100m water resistance.
- BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST DISPLAY YET — Apple’s brightest Always-On Retina display is easy to see, even in direct sunlight. More room for adding complications to customize your watch face and enough space to view six metrics at once.
- THE FREEDOM OF CELLULAR — Cellular is built in. You can call and text without your iPhone, even overseas with international roaming. Stream your favorite music and podcasts. Get directions with Maps.
- Consider it if: you want a large Ultra-class watch and already use an iPhone. Apple Watch setup and use require an iPhone; check Apple’s current configuration and availability rather than assuming the old deal remains.
- Check before buying: band selection can change the configuration and price, and cellular service may add a recurring carrier charge. Confirm carrier compatibility if you intend to use cellular features.
- Look elsewhere if: you prefer a smaller, lighter watch or do not use an iPhone. If considering an older-generation discount now, compare it with the currently available generation and its support and features.
TP-Link Deco Wi-Fi 6 mesh: verify the package before comparing
The roundup advertised a TP-Link Deco Wi-Fi 6 mesh system for $149.99 with claimed coverage of 6,500 square feet. It does not establish the precise model number, node count, speed class or hardware revision, so the headline alone is not enough to determine whether it fits a particular home.
A mesh system uses multiple nodes to distribute Wi-Fi across a home, which can help reduce dead zones compared with relying on one router. The coverage figure is a claim from the deal listing, not a promise of usable speeds throughout every 6,500-square-foot property. Walls, floors, interference, node placement and client devices affect real-world results. Mesh Wi-Fi also does not increase the internet speed supplied by your ISP; it changes how that connection is distributed around the home.

- Always‑On Retina LTPO OLED display
- Confirm the model number, how many nodes are included, and whether the unit is new, renewed or open-box.
- Compare the system’s Wi-Fi class and ports with the devices and speeds you actually use. Wi-Fi 6 benefits compatible devices; older devices can still connect.
- Check whether Ethernet backhaul is supported if you can wire the nodes, and whether the system is compatible with your modem and network setup.
- A small apartment may not need multiple nodes; a multi-story or dense-wall home may not achieve the advertised coverage. Consider Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 only if their capabilities justify the added cost for your equipment.
TP-Link’s U.S. site is a place to check current Deco model specifications and support, but it does not verify the package or price in BGR’s expired listing.
TurboTax Home & Business: a tax-year-specific promotion
BGR advertised 26% off TurboTax Home & Business in the final stretch before the April 15, 2025 federal filing deadline for most taxpayers. The offer was tied to that filing season; it says nothing about current tax-year pricing or availability.

Choose tax software based on the forms and situations your return requires, not the discount percentage alone. “Home & Business” is not automatically the right edition for every self-employed filer. State returns may cost extra, and expert help, audit support or other services can depend on the product and plan. Check supported forms, state charges and the full checkout total for the applicable tax year at TurboTax. For complex business, rental, investment or multi-state returns, compare the software’s supported situations with a professional-preparation option.
Ring Doorbell: the $55 model is not identified
The original headline advertised a Ring Doorbell for $55, but the accessible deal text does not establish its model, seller, condition, power type, included accessories or whether the price required a coupon, membership or bundle. It could have been an older or limited promotion, but the available details do not establish which. Do not treat $55 as the price of a current Ring model.

Subscription needs matter as much as the hardware price. Ring says live view and real-time notifications can work without Ring Protect, while saved recordings and video history require a compatible plan. Its plans page listed, when viewed in August 2026, Ring Solo at $4.99 per month, Ring Multi at $9.99 per month and Ring Pro at $19.99 per month; those are current-page prices at that time, not terms attached to the 2025 deal. Check plan coverage and current pricing before buying. Ring’s doorbell catalog and product collection show current product families, not proof of the historical model.
Before choosing a doorbell, confirm whether it is battery-powered or needs compatible low-voltage wiring, its Wi-Fi-band support, and whether your home network and phone meet the requirements. Ring says its devices require home Wi-Fi, a mobile device and the Ring app, and do not work with a mobile-phone hotspot; see its product FAQ. Buyers who require local video storage or want to avoid recurring cloud costs should compare alternatives.

Quick Recap
How to evaluate an old deal listing
- Confirm the exact item. Match the model number, finish, node count or edition to the product you intend to buy. A broad product name is not enough to compare specifications.
- Check the seller and condition. Verify whether the item is new, renewed or open-box, and review shipping, return and warranty terms.
- Read the checkout conditions. Look for coupon codes, memberships, trade-ins, bundles, payment restrictions, taxes and shipping that change the final cost.
- Include recurring costs. Account for cellular service, cloud recording or software add-ons when relevant, rather than comparing only the advertised hardware price.
- Verify current availability directly. The roundup date is April 7, 2025; neither the historical discount nor stock can be inferred from current product pages.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
