The battery-life figures are separate manufacturer claims, not the results of a direct runtime test. Bose lists QC35 II Bluetooth range as 33 feet (10 meters); that figure is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee for every room or device.
What is the real difference?
QC35 II adds Bluetooth and a rechargeable battery
The QC35 II can play audio wirelessly over Bluetooth or be used with its included audio cable. Bose specifies Bluetooth 4.1, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, up to 20 hours of battery life, and a 2.25-hour charge time. The listed charging connection is Micro-USB. These are Bose specifications, not independently measured results; the product specifications are available on Bose’s QC35 II page.
QC25 is a wired model powered by AAA
The QC25 is for listening over a wired connection, not Bluetooth. Bose’s 19 March 2015 announcement says: “The QuietComfort 25 headphones come with a single AAA battery for up to 35 hours of use.” That is Bose’s stated maximum, not a direct comparison with QC35 II battery life. Check the exact QC25 version and cable arrangement before buying; compatibility details for every variant are not established by the cited source.

Which one should you buy?
Choose QC35 II if you need wireless flexibility
- Bluetooth listening matters, or you want the option to use a cable as well.
- You prefer a rechargeable headphone over carrying spare AAA batteries.
- You are comfortable buying a discontinued model and can verify the specific pair’s condition, battery performance, included accessories, seller, and return terms.
Bose lists the QC35 II sale period as 2017–2022. Its product page displayed a $299.95 price alongside a notify-me control when checked on 4 October 2026; that page state does not establish dependable stock or a typical current market price. See Bose’s QC35 II listing.
Choose QC25 only if wired listening suits you
- You specifically want a wired headphone and do not need Bluetooth.
- You are comfortable replacing a AAA battery rather than charging the headphones.
- The particular pair’s condition, price, and cable/version match your setup.
The QC25’s replaceable battery can be convenient for someone who wants to swap in a fresh cell, but it does not make the model wireless. Bose’s published battery claim is in its QC25 announcement.

What the available evidence does—and does not—say about performance
The cited material establishes connection type, power details, and product history. It does not establish a controlled comparison showing that one model has better noise cancellation, sound quality, comfort, call quality, or durability. Those points should not be inferred from the QC35 II’s newer model name or its Bluetooth feature. If performance is decisive, assess the exact unit and your own fit and listening needs rather than relying on an unsupported universal ranking.

- Ask how long the battery lasts in the seller’s actual unit and whether it charges normally; the original published runtime is not evidence of an older battery’s present capacity.
- Confirm the included audio cable and charging cable or other accessories you expect to receive.
- Review the seller’s return terms and the item’s condition before purchase. A legacy product page or listed price does not guarantee retail availability.
Confirm QC25 cable and battery details
- Verify the exact QC25 version and that its cable/connectors suit your intended device.
- Check that the battery compartment and cable are present and in working condition, and account for using a AAA battery.
Check replacement cushion fit
