Citizen Italy lists it as a professional ISO 6425 diver’s watch with 20 bar water resistance. Those are manufacturer specifications for the model, not proof that a particular pre-owned example is fit to dive.
What the JP2000-08E is
Citizen Italy identifies reference JP2000-08E as “Aqualand I.” Its C520 quartz calibre combines analog and digital displays with a sensor. The listed everyday functions include time, a full calendar, an alarm, a 1/100-second chronograph with split timing, and a battery-charge check. Its dive features include depth sensing, dive alarms and recallable dive data.
Citizen Italy lists a 44 mm stainless-steel case, mineral glass, a one-way rotating bezel, a black polyurethane strap, and a weight of 112 g. The caseback and crown are screw-secured. The page states 20 bar water resistance and describes the watch as a professional ISO 6425 diver’s watch. These are the manufacturer’s regional specifications; they do not establish the present condition, calibration or water resistance of an individual watch. What its depth meter and dive memory record
Citizen’s product page lists a maximum-depth display from 1 to 80 m, in 10 cm increments. The watch can retain data from the last four dives. The recorded information includes the dive month and day, dive number, maximum depth, duration, and start and end times.

The listed alarms cover depth, dive duration, rapid ascent, abnormal depth and low battery. These describe the functions Citizen documents for this model; they should not be read as evidence of a particular watch’s accuracy or as a replacement for a dive computer or other appropriate dive equipment.
Is it the original Aqualand?
The JP2000-08E belongs to a longer Aqualand history, but official Citizen history dates refer to different milestones—not a confirmed launch date for this exact reference.

- 1985: Citizen’s Promaster history traces the original Aqualand 200m to this year. Citizen says that model had an electronic depth meter measuring in 0.1 m increments up to 80 m and 200 m diving water resistance. - 1999: The same timeline notes the return of the first-generation Aqualand with improved specifications.
These milestones place the JP2000-08E in the Aqualand lineage; they do not establish when this specific reference first went on sale.

The model’s stated specification is only a starting point when assessing a used watch. The available product information does not establish the condition or service history of any individual example. If you intend to dive with one, have its water resistance and relevant functions assessed by a qualified watch service provider rather than relying on the printed rating alone.

- Confirm the reference: Check that the watch is actually marked JP2000-08E; related Aqualand models may have different specifications.
- Check function and condition: Ask about service history and have the depth sensor, displays, alarms, controls and seals assessed. A manufacturer-listed function does not confirm that it works correctly on a particular watch.
- Verify strap fit: Citizen lists a polyurethane strap, but its product page does not establish third-party strap dimensions or compatibility. Confirm the lug width, end shape and reference-specific fit before ordering a replacement.
