The DT No.1 G8 is a real standalone smartwatch in the narrow, old-fashioned sense: it can make calls and send texts with a compatible 2G GSM nano-SIM. Its best feature is battery life in Watch mode, where Bluetooth and SIM functions are off. With those features active, endurance falls, and in 2026 the 2G connection and aging phone-app support make it a risky choice as a practical daily smartwatch.
It may suit someone who wants an inexpensive retro gadget, a basic watch, or Bluetooth notifications and has verified the phone pairing first. Skip it if you need dependable cellular service, modern apps, medical-grade health data, or a device with confirmed ongoing support.
What is the DT No.1 G8?
The G8 is an older, low-cost smartwatch built around proprietary software rather than Wear OS or watchOS. Historical reviews describe a 1.3-inch, 240 × 240 touchscreen, Bluetooth 4.0, a built-in speaker and microphone, and support for a 2G GSM nano-SIM. It also includes basic watch utilities and health-tracking functions. The companion app used in period reviews was Fundo Wear.
This is not an Android phone on your wrist. It has no conventional third-party app store, and its usefulness depends on simple built-in functions, Bluetooth pairing, and—if you want calls without a nearby phone—a compatible 2G network. Do not confuse the G8 with later DTNO.1 watches such as the DT1 or DT V1; they are different products with different specifications (DT1; DT V1).

| Bluetooth | Bluetooth 4.0 |
| Cellular | 2G GSM nano-SIM; not LTE or 5G |
| Battery | 300 mAh reported in some historical reviews and listings; confirm the exact unit |
| Operating modes | Watch, Bracelet, and Phone |
| Companion app | Fundo Wear in historical reviews; current compatibility is not established |
| Health functions | Step counting, heart-rate readings, sleep tracking, and a claimed blood-pressure function |
| Charging | Micro-USB |
| Strap | Removable; some reviewed packages included a spare |
Specifications and package contents come from period reviews and listings, not a current official G8 product page. The spare strap, in particular, may depend on the seller and package.
Battery life depends on which mode you use
Historical reviews and listings give different runtimes for the G8’s three modes. The figures below are period claims, not measurements of a new or used watch in 2026.
| Mode | Historical reported runtime | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Watch | Up to 120 hours, or about five days | Bluetooth and SIM functions are disabled. This is the endurance mode, not a normal connected-watch estimate. |
| Bracelet | About 60 hours | Bluetooth phone integration and notifications are active. |
| Phone | About 38 hours | 2G SIM and calling functions are available, with the shortest quoted runtime. |
| Ordinary mixed use | Roughly two to two-and-a-half days in historical reports | A more realistic reference for active use, though battery age and settings will affect an individual watch. |
The five-day headline is therefore a best-case mode-specific figure. One review reports a 300 mAh battery and up to five days in Watch mode; other period coverage and a marketplace listing report shorter endurance in connected use (GadgetViper review; Trang Công Nghệ review; Mercado Libre listing). For a used watch, battery condition is likely to matter more than the original runtime claim.
How the three modes work
Watch mode
Watch mode disables Bluetooth and SIM functions. It is the best choice when you want timekeeping and maximum time between charges, but it removes the connectivity that makes the G8 a smartwatch.
Rank #2
- Please be attention that screen protector is flexible plastic film, Not Tempered Glass.
- IMPORTANT: Your devices’ screen brightness will be reduced when this protector is in use. Please adjust the brightness appropriately according to personal needs.
- 4H Hardness can effectively resist daily scratches.
- Self-healing properties enable the film to recover from minor scratches and keep your screen brand new.
- Dust-free,bubble free,one-push super easily installation.
Bracelet mode
Bracelet mode connects to a phone over Bluetooth for alerts and some phone-related features, with activity data synchronized through the companion app. It is the most relevant mode for basic notifications, but its connection and message display were limitations in historical reviews.
Phone mode
Phone mode adds the G8’s 2G SIM functions while retaining Bluetooth features. It can place calls and send texts without relying entirely on a paired smartphone, provided the SIM, supported bands, and local network are compatible. This means basic legacy telephony—not modern standalone smartwatch computing.
Design and everyday usability
Period reviews describe a sporty case with a stainless-steel-style bezel, two physical side buttons, and a removable strap system. One review reports a weight of about 63 grams. The 1.3-inch square display is adequate for basic watch screens and controls, but reviewers found it harder to read in strong sunlight. Some reviews report only three preinstalled watch faces.
The Micro-USB charging port sits under a protective cover, and one review found access awkward. Motion-to-wake was also reported as slow or inconsistent. These are manageable compromises for a basic device, but they make the G8 feel less polished than a modern watch. The historical reviews do not establish a dependable water-resistance rating, so do not assume it is safe for swimming or showering.

- Please note that this protective film is made of flexible plastic. And it's intentionally made smaller than the screen for installation.
- 99% transparency preserves the original screen's brightness and definition.
- 4H hardness protects your screen from daily scratches, scrapes, and normal signs of wear.
- Self-healing technology enables the film to recover from minor scratches in 48 hours.
- Bubble-free, fingerprint-free, dust-resistant. No sticky residue when removed.
Notifications, calls, and phone pairing
Historical reports describe call alerts, app notifications, basic contact access, call handling, text functions, and activity synchronization through Fundo Wear. The watch can be useful as a simple alert screen, but do not expect a modern messaging experience: one review found that notifications did not adequately show message text. Another reported unstable app connections and disconnections. A Japanese review also reported that Japanese notification text appeared as square placeholder characters (Butsuyoku Gadget review; Smartwatch Specifications review).
The historical pairing process was app-led. Exact screens and compatibility with current phones are not established, so treat these as general steps rather than guaranteed current instructions:
- Charge and power on the watch.
- Install Fundo Wear only if it is available from a trusted app store for your phone and appears compatible.
- Enable Bluetooth on the phone.
- Use the watch’s QR code or the app’s device-discovery function, if available.
- Start pairing inside Fundo Wear rather than relying only on the phone’s generic Bluetooth settings.
- Grant the permissions the app requests, then select notification apps and synchronize activity data if those options are available.
Historical reviews establish that Fundo Wear was used with the G8; they do not establish that current Android or iOS versions still support the app, that the original QR-code download route works, or that current firmware and manuals remain available. For a used G8, verify pairing on your own phone before relying on it.

- Charge the watch, then restart both the watch and phone.
- Remove the G8 from the phone’s Bluetooth device list and from Fundo Wear if it appears there.
- Toggle Bluetooth off and on, then try discovery and pairing from inside the app.
- Check whether the app is still available and grant its requested Bluetooth and notification permissions.
- If a modern phone refuses to connect, test with an older compatible phone if one is available.
- Reset the watch only after noting any settings or data you want to preserve.
A Bluetooth connection does not confirm that the SIM or 2G calling functions will work.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Health and fitness features: useful estimates, not medical readings
The G8 offers a pedometer, heart-rate function, sleep tracking, activity or calorie-related data, and a claimed blood-pressure function. Its heart-rate feature was not continuously monitoring in at least one historical hands-on test; the reviewer had to open the function or tap the heart icon.
Small, informal period comparisons were mixed but sometimes encouraging: one reviewer reported a step-count difference of fewer than 500 steps over roughly 14,500 steps compared with a Samsung Health setup, and reported a matching heart-rate reading in one comparison. Another reviewer described heart-rate and blood-pressure results as reasonably close to a comparison device, while criticizing sleep tracking as inaccurate (GadgetViper review; Trang Công Nghệ review).
Those isolated historical checks are not clinical validation. Heart-rate and blood-pressure readings are wellness estimates, not medical measurements. Do not use the G8 to diagnose or manage hypertension, assess a heart condition, or make treatment decisions.

The 2G SIM feature is the biggest buying risk in 2026
The G8 uses 2G GSM, not LTE or 5G. Whether its SIM feature works depends on a compatible 2G network still operating where you plan to use the watch. Network availability varies by country, carrier, and location; the historical product reviews do not establish current coverage for any specific service.
Before buying for calls or texts, confirm all of the following with the carrier and seller:
- The carrier still operates 2G GSM service in the intended location.
- The watch’s supported GSM bands match that network.
- The SIM is active and provisioned for the required legacy service.
- The watch is unlocked for the intended carrier.
- The desired SMS and emergency-calling functions are supported.
For a U.S. buyer in 2026, treat standalone calling as unlikely to be useful unless a specific carrier confirms compatibility for the exact watch and location. In places where 2G has been retired, the SIM feature will not work even if the watch powers on. Bluetooth or offline timekeeping may still be usable.
Pros and cons
What it does well
- Up to five days was reported in Watch mode, with communications disabled.
- It offers a choice between offline timekeeping, Bluetooth-connected use, and legacy SIM telephony.
- The removable strap design and sporty appearance were positives in period reviews.
- It combines basic alerts and activity functions in an inexpensive device from its era.
What holds it back
- The 2G SIM feature depends on legacy network availability and is not future-proof.
- Bluetooth notifications may omit useful message content, and historical reports describe connection instability.
- Current Fundo Wear, firmware, and phone compatibility are not established.
- Health readings are not medically validated, and sleep tracking received criticism.
- Watch mode’s longest battery claim requires disabling Bluetooth and SIM functions.
Should you buy the DT No.1 G8 now?
Consider it only as a low-cost used or retro gadget if basic timekeeping, experimentation, or limited Bluetooth alerts are enough and you can test the actual unit first. A listing should be checked for clear G8 model identification, battery condition, charger, included strap, and a return option. No current official G8 sales or support page is established here, so treat marketplace stock as used, old stock, or a listing that may confuse it with another DTNO.1 model.
Recommended Free Tools
Do not choose it for dependable standalone calling, emergency communication, medical monitoring, swimming, or long-term app support. A current Bluetooth fitness band is a better category for supported phone integration and everyday activity tracking; a carrier-compatible LTE smartwatch is the more appropriate category if independent modern calling is essential. Those are different products and should be compared on current support and service requirements, not as direct G8 equivalents.
