The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked “150th Anniversary,” reference 26585XT.OO.1220XT.01, is a 41 mm limited edition combining a titanium case with selected Bulk Metallic Glass components. Audemars Piguet limits the series to 150 pieces. Inside is self-winding Calibre 5135, an openworked perpetual calendar with a moonphase display.
What is the Audemars Piguet 26585XT?
It is a commemorative Royal Oak perpetual calendar, not a general designation for every openworked Royal Oak. Audemars Piguet’s full reference is 26585XT.OO.1220XT.01, and its product page describes the model as a limited series of 150 pieces. Audemars Piguet’s product page identifies the anniversary edition and its materials; the GPHG listing independently corroborates the model name and reference.
The watch’s openworked dial exposes parts of the movement while arranging the calendar indications across the face. It also carries details specific to the anniversary edition: a signature in the moonphase display and caseback-frame engravings of the commemorative “150” logo and “1 of 150 pieces,” as reported by Time and Watches on 26 February 2025.
What movement is in the AP 26585XT?
The 26585XT uses Audemars Piguet’s self-winding Calibre 5135. Time and Watches reports a frequency of 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations per hour) and a 40-hour power reserve. Its report describes Calibre 5135 as the final appearance of that calibre in this openworked 41 mm perpetual-calendar line.

Do not confuse this anniversary reference with the later openworked perpetual-calendar models using Calibre 7139. Is the 26585XT titanium?
Yes. The case is titanium, but the watch is not wholly titanium: Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) is used on the bezel, caseback frame and bracelet studs. Audemars Piguet summarizes the case and bracelet construction as combining titanium and amorphous metallic glass. That distinction matters: Audemars Piguet’s product information does not describe the entire bracelet as BMG.

The watch measures 41 mm in diameter and 9.9 mm thick, according to Time and Watches. Its vintage-inspired dial uses blue inner-bezel and subdial surrounds, silver-grey round hour markers, white calendar indications, and white-gold hands filled with luminous material. Those design details are reported by the specialist publication rather than presented here as independent hands-on observations.
The moonphase disc uses a photographic moon image based on a NASA image, transferred by sapphire metallisation. The display presents eight lunar phases from both hemispheres, according to the same report.

How does its perpetual calendar work?
A perpetual calendar mechanically tracks different month lengths and leap years, so it does not need routine date correction at every short month. On the 26585XT, the calendar indications are arranged on the openworked dial, with the moonphase display at six o’clock.
The moonphase follows a 29.5-day lunar cycle. The calendar is not indefinitely aligned with the Gregorian calendar: Time and Watches says that, if the watch remains fully wound, it stays precise until 2100, when it requires manual correction to realign with that calendar. This is a qualification to the mechanism’s long-term calendar tracking, not a promise that the watch will remain accurate without winding or care.

What is the design inspiration?
The dial draws on Audemars Piguet’s historical openworked perpetual-calendar pocket watch reference 25729, exhibited at the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet, according to Time and Watches. The anniversary signature in the moonphase and the numbered caseback-frame engravings connect the historical reference to this limited run.
