The Favre Leuba Deep Blue Revival is a 39 mm automatic diver inspired by the brand’s 1964 Deep Blue, marketed within its revived Deep Raider line. It pairs vintage cues—including a grey sunray dial and date at 4:30—with modern sapphire components, a stated 300 m water-resistance rating and a La Joux-Perret G100 movement. It is distinct from the larger, more contemporary Deep Raider Renaissance.
What is the Deep Blue Revival?
Favre Leuba introduced the Deep Blue Revival as a historically minded reworking of its 1964 Deep Blue. The brand places it in the Deep Raider Revival collection; “Deep Blue Revival” is the specific watch name. The revival retains the original’s compact proportions and recognizable dial character while updating materials and water resistance. Favre Leuba’s September 2024 introduction discusses the Revival alongside the separate Deep Raider Renaissance.
Monochrome Watches characterizes the Revival as following roughly 80% of the original design, compared with roughly 40% for the Renaissance. Those percentages are the publication’s description of design fidelity, not an official measurement. Monochrome’s first look dates the original Deep Blue to 1964.
Design and dimensions
The Revival’s polished stainless-steel case measures 39 mm across, 12.75 mm thick and 48 mm from lug to lug, with a 19 mm lug width, according to Monochrome’s technical listing. Its grey sunray-brushed dial has baton-like markers, beige Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers, and a date window at 4:30. A period-style “30 ATM” marking appears on the dial.

The unidirectional rotating bezel has a 60-minute scale and a sapphire insert. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial; the caseback is solid, and both it and the crown screw down. The five-link polished steel bracelet uses triangular-shaped links and a double-folding clasp. Favre Leuba also describes steel-bracelet and rubber-strap options with quick-change systems; exact configuration may depend on the version offered.

How it differs from the original and the Renaissance
The original Deep Blue used an acrylic crystal and a bakelite bezel, and Favre Leuba gives its water resistance as 200 m. The Revival replaces those components with a sapphire crystal and sapphire bezel insert and raises the stated rating to 300 m. It keeps the grey dial, date placement and aged-radium-look lume that recall the vintage watch.

What does 300 m water resistance mean?
Favre Leuba’s user manual, version 1.2 (2025), rates the Deep Blue Revival at at least 30 bar / 300 m. The manual cautions that meter, feet or bar figures correspond to theoretical pressure and temperature test standards and “cannot be equated with the actual depth of a dive.” Treat 300 m as the manufacturer’s rating, not a promise that the watch is suitable for every real-world dive at that depth. The same manual says watches rated from 20 bar / 200 m upward can also be used for diving.

- Rinse it with fresh water after contact with seawater or chlorinated water.
- Have water resistance checked regularly and after unusual stress.
- Service the watch every 4–5 years at an official Favre Leuba service center.
