Limited to 350 pieces, it pairs a titanium cushion-shaped case and 200 m stated water resistance with the brand’s GP03300 automatic movement. It is inspired by the original, not a mechanically identical reissue.
What is the new Girard-Perregaux Deep Diver?
The Deep Diver Legacy Edition is a collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Bamford Watch Department. The manufacturer limits the release to 350 pieces. Its reference is 39500-21-3266-6CX. Girard-Perregaux’s US product page identifies the watch and lists its current US price; the brand’s feature on the collaboration provides its historical framing.
The design keeps the Deep Diver’s cushion-shaped case and faceted bezel, but the dial gives the heritage model a modern, colorful interpretation. Girard-Perregaux describes that dial as a tribute to the bold aesthetic of a 1971 Deep Diver. The result is a heritage-inspired watch rather than a straight reproduction.
How does it compare with the 1969 original?
Girard-Perregaux dates the first Deep Diver to 1969 and identifies it as reference 9108. The original’s red dial and 14-facet bezel are central to the design lineage. The brand also says the original case geometry foreshadowed forms later used for the Laureato.

The available specifications do not support a like-for-like case comparison with the 1969 watch. They do establish a meaningful mechanical distinction: the original used a Gyromatic system, while the modern edition uses the GP03300.

The two-crown layout serves the watch’s functions: one crown operates the internal rotating bezel, while the other handles the movement functions, according to Fratello’s May 14, 2025 launch report. The 200 m figure is an advertised specification; it should not be read as evidence of independent testing or as a substitute for following the manufacturer’s guidance on use and maintenance.

Price and availability
Girard-Perregaux’s US product page lists the watch at USD 15,900, a regional price that can change. Fratello reported a launch price of €16,000 in May 2025. These figures refer to different markets and dates, so they are not directly interchangeable or a single universal price.
The manufacturer’s feature page said at launch that the limited edition would be available through Girard-Perregaux retailers and online through Bamford Watch Department. That launch-era statement does not establish current stock. Check the relevant regional product page or contact an authorized seller for current availability.

A heritage design, not a vintage-spec reissue
The strongest connection to the original is visual: the sculptural case, faceted bezel, and adventurous dial concept. The modern watch translates that identity into titanium, a contemporary automatic caliber, and a colorful collaboration design. No hands-on testing is represented here, so assessments of comfort, real-world diving performance, or how the watch wears would go beyond the published specifications.
