The CITIZEN NC0200-90E is the black-dial stainless-steel model built around Citizen’s Caliber 0200 automatic movement. Citizen announced it for Japan in 2021 at a launch price of ¥605,000 including tax. That is historical Japanese pricing, not a current quote; present-day price and stock for this exact reference are not established here.
What exactly is the NC0200-90E?
NC0200-90E is the watch’s model reference; Caliber 0200 is its movement. Citizen announced the watch for release in Japan on August 26, 2021. It has a black stainless-steel case and bracelet, with a textured black dial. The launch specification lists a 40.0 mm case diameter and 10.9 mm thickness as design values, sapphire crystal with Citizen Clarity coating, 5 bar water resistance and a transparent caseback. Citizen’s 2021 launch announcement is the source for these model details.
Caliber 0200 specifications and accuracy
| Specification | Caliber 0200 |
|---|---|
| Movement | Automatic mechanical, with manual winding |
| Accuracy | −3 to +5 seconds per day average in static testing; Citizen cautions that use can produce results outside this range |
| Power reserve | About 60 hours when fully wound |
| Frequency | 28,800 beats per hour |
| Jewels | 26 |
| Functions | Hours, minutes and seconds; seconds-hand stop function |
These specifications come from Citizen’s launch announcement and Caliber 0200 instruction manual. The −3 to +5 seconds-per-day figure is a static accuracy specification, not a guarantee of the rate on the wrist. Citizen says actual results may vary with factors including wear time, position, wrist movement and mainspring winding. No independent timing result for this particular watch is established here.
What distinguishes the movement?
Citizen describes Caliber 0200 as its first newly developed mechanical movement in eleven years, drawing on the company’s technical resources and the know-how of its subsidiary Manufacture La Joux-Perret S.A. The design includes a free-sprung balance, which Citizen says is intended to support precision and longer-term stability. Citizen also identifies LIGA-manufactured escapement components and satin and perlage finishing. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions, not independent assessments of performance or finish.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Citizen says each completed watch undergoes a 17-day inspection across six positions and three temperature levels before bracelet attachment. Watches that pass receive Citizen’s own Caliber 02 standard inspection certificate. This is an in-house inspection standard, not an independent chronometer certification. Details appear in Citizen’s Caliber 0200 development announcement.
Dial, case and bracelet design
Citizen says the black dial uses electroforming to create a sand-like texture, with subtle tone changes arising from its relief. The company describes the stainless-steel case and bracelet as combining coarse brushing and mirror finishing. Those descriptions convey the intended surface treatment, but they do not establish how the watch wears, how legible it is in varied lighting, or how the finishing looks in person.

What a buyer should compare
For a useful comparison with another mechanical watch, assess the exact local asking price and availability alongside the static accuracy specification, its testing caveats, power reserve, dimensions and water resistance. Also consider case and dial design, finishing, warranty and service arrangements. The specifications above allow comparison on paper, but they do not establish a competitor’s relative value, real-world timekeeping or wearing comfort.
