What the $299 Pixel Watch 3 deal included
Phandroid’s May 16, 2025 report featured a 41mm matte-black Pixel Watch 3 with an Obsidian band at $299, $50 below the regular price cited in that article. It did not clearly identify a retailer or establish the seller, condition, checkout requirements, shipping, return terms, or offer end date. Its product module no longer shows an active listing. Phandroid’s original deal report therefore documents the historical price, not a way to buy it now.
A separate report from October 1, 2025 identified an Amazon offer for the Wi-Fi 41mm model at $299 rather than $349. It mentioned a Champagne Gold case with Hazel band for 41mm and a Matte Black case with black band for 45mm. That is a $50 reduction, or about 14.3% off $349—not 20%. The two reports describe different variants and dates; neither establishes current stock or price. NextPit’s October 2025 report is also historical.
Neither account establishes that every size, color, or connectivity version qualified. The $299 report from NextPit was for Wi-Fi; do not assume LTE was included at that price. Before paying, check the exact size, connectivity, color and band, whether the unit is new, who sells it, and the final checkout price. Confirm any coupon, shipping, return policy, and warranty on the retailer’s own listing. The end date of the reported promotions is not established.

Is $299 a good price now?
It was a real discount against the $349 comparison price cited in October 2025, but the value of that deal does not carry forward automatically. The May 2025 report itself said $299 was not the lowest price seen; the October report described a record low for its specific promotion. Those claims can differ because they refer to separate dates and configurations.
As of August 2026, the available reports do not establish a current Pixel Watch 3 price or the current price gap to the newer Pixel Watch 4. Check Google’s U.S. Google Store watch collection and reputable retailers before deciding. If a new Watch 3 is actually $299 or less and a newer model costs materially more, the older watch may be a sensible value for someone who wants its particular Google and Fitbit features. If the newer watch is only a little more, compare the hardware and support horizon rather than buying on the strength of a $50-off label.

What the Pixel Watch 3 is good at
The Watch 3 is best understood as a compact Wear OS smartwatch with fitness tracking, not as a dedicated endurance sports watch. The deal coverage highlights a larger display with slimmer bezels than earlier Pixel Watch models, faster charging, Fitbit-based health and fitness features, cardio-load tracking, suggested running workouts, notifications, Google Wallet, and Google and Nest integrations. These features make it attractive to Android users—especially Pixel-phone owners—who want everyday smartwatch convenience alongside exercise and sleep tracking. Availability of particular software features can depend on region, app version, and later software changes; consult Google Pixel Watch support for current compatibility and feature information.
Phandroid reported that a 20-minute charge could reach 51%, but that is a claim in its 2025 coverage, not an independent test or a guarantee for every charging condition. Frequent charging remains part of the ownership trade-off: GPS workouts, LTE use, display settings, and sensor activity can affect runtime. If quick top-ups suit your routine, charging speed may help; if you want several days between charges, compare fitness-focused watches and trackers instead.

The original deal article also said Readiness Score did not require Fitbit Premium. Subscription terms and included features can change, so verify current Fitbit terms before treating any feature as permanently free. Its statement that the Watch 3 lacked Gemini is likewise dated and should not be used to judge current software capability without checking Google’s current documentation.

Consider it if
- You use an Android phone, particularly a Pixel, and value Google services and a full smartwatch experience.
- You want notifications, contactless payments, general fitness and sleep tracking, and running guidance in one device.
- You are comfortable charging frequently and the current price makes the Watch 3 meaningfully cheaper than the newer Pixel Watch.
- You prefer a smaller watch: the historical $299 headline configuration was 41mm. Try the size if possible; a 45mm watch offers more screen area but takes up more room on the wrist.
Look elsewhere if
- You own an iPhone: Apple Watch is generally the more natural ecosystem choice.
- You are a serious runner or endurance athlete who needs long GPS sessions, multi-day battery life, mapping, physical buttons, or deeper training tools. The Watch 3 can track runs, but deal coverage does not position it as a full Garmin replacement.
- You dislike frequent charging, or you need LTE independence. For LTE, check the exact model and whether your carrier and plan support it; the documented $299 Amazon offer was Wi-Fi.
- You want the newest hardware and longer likely support runway, or a newer Pixel Watch is close enough in price to make the older model poor value.
- The listing is renewed, open-box, or from a marketplace seller without return and warranty terms you are comfortable with.

The $299 Pixel Watch 3 was a documented 2025 deal, not a confirmed live August 2026 offer. Consider a new unit at that price if you want a Google-oriented everyday smartwatch and are comfortable with frequent charging. Choose the newer Pixel Watch if its current premium is small or newer hardware matters more; skip the Watch 3 if you need endurance-watch battery and training depth, or if the listing’s seller, condition, warranty, and return terms are unclear.
