What is new on the Casquette 2.0 Titanium & Gold?
The defining change is in the finish: titanium is paired with an 18K 2N yellow-gold GP logo and matching pushers. The edition keeps the distinctive elongated case and on-demand tubular LED display of the modern Casquette 2.0 rather than introducing a different watch architecture. Girard-Perregaux identifies it as reference 39800-21-3199-6CM and limits production to 820 pieces.
The maker lists a 42.40 × 33.60 mm case, 14.64 mm thickness, sapphire crystal and 50 m water resistance. Those are manufacturer specifications, not an independent assessment of fit or water performance. The collection page gives a 90 g mass for the Casquette line, but does not establish that figure specifically for this reference, so it should not be treated as a confirmed weight for the Titanium & Gold.
What does it do, and what is the secret date function?
The Casquette is a quartz digital watch. Its tubular LED display illuminates on demand, rather than remaining continuously lit; Girard-Perregaux says this preserves battery life. The movement is caliber GP3980-1474, for which the brand lists a frequency of 32,768 Hz and 45 parts.

Alongside hours, minutes, seconds, day and date, the movement provides month, year, chronograph and second-time-zone displays. Its secret-date function lets the wearer save a memorable date and set a time at which that date appears each day. This is an additional display feature, not a separate mechanical complication.
How does it differ from the original Casquette?
Girard-Perregaux dates the original Casquette to 1976–1978 and says it produced 8,200 examples. The brand revived the design as Casquette 2.0 in 2022, using black ceramic and Grade 5 titanium for the case, with titanium pushers. The Titanium & Gold is a later material variation on that modern revival: titanium remains the case material, while gold accents set it apart from the black ceramic-and-titanium version.

The modern movement and its expanded displays make the 2.0 more than a straightforward reproduction of the original’s look. Girard-Perregaux’s collection materials describe a tubular LED display for the line; the detailed functions and caliber figures above are those stated for the Titanium & Gold reference.
How is it different from the Saint Laurent Casquette editions?
Saint Laurent Casquette projects are separate collaborations, not alternate names for reference 39800-21-3199-6CM. Saint Laurent lists a Grade 5 titanium Casquette 2.0 collaboration, while Girard-Perregaux describes a silver-grey Saint Laurent Rive Droite version introduced in 2024. Their branding, materials and listings should not be used to infer specifications or availability for the GP Titanium & Gold.
