The Pixel Watch 4 is now official in 41mm and 45mm sizes, and both use Google’s new Quick Charge Dock instead of the previous rear charging arrangement. The dock reaches about 50% in 15 minutes, needs a USB-C adapter rated at least 7.5W, and does not include that adapter. Google also describes the watch as serviceable, with replaceable battery and display components.
Those details confirm the central claims in Droid Life’s July 24, 2025 leak, while adding the information buyers need now: exact battery ratings, charging times, accessory compatibility, prices, and the practical differences between sizes.
The leak, now confirmed
Droid Life’s July 24, 2025 report showed official-looking renders of two Pixel Watch 4 case sizes, several color-and-band combinations, and a side-mounted magnetic-pin charging design. It also raised the possibility that older charging pucks would no longer work. Google subsequently confirmed the two sizes and the new dock when the watch launched, with retail availability beginning October 9, 2025.
The same report mentioned a possible new co-processor, larger batteries, longer endurance, brighter displays, and repair implications. Those were pre-launch rumors at the time. Google’s published specifications now confirm the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platform, Cortex-M55 co-processor, larger 41mm and 45mm batteries, up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, and a serviceability claim.

Google’s figures are rated estimates, not guarantees. LTE use, GPS, health sensors, notifications, screen brightness, temperature, and cellular signal can change actual endurance. Battery Saver extends the rating by reducing functionality or background activity.

Who should choose 41mm?
- People with smaller wrists or who prefer a less prominent watch.
- Buyers prioritizing the lower starting price and lighter 31g case.
- Users comfortable with Google’s 30-hour always-on-display rating.
The trade-offs are a smaller display, 325mAh battery, and shorter rated endurance than the 45mm model.

Who should choose 45mm?
- People with larger wrists or who value easier-to-read text and maps.
- Heavy GPS, notification, health-tracking, or always-on-display users.
- Buyers who want the longest rated battery life, including up to 72 hours in Battery Saver.
The 45mm watch weighs more, costs more, and has a larger visual footprint. Its 45mm accessory ecosystem is also narrower across generations.
What changed about charging?
Pixel Watch 4 uses Google’s Pixel Watch Quick Charge Dock. Magnetic pins on the dock connect to the watch, while the dock’s cable terminates in USB-C. Google says the system is about 25% faster than the previous generation and reaches 50% in approximately 15 minutes; the 25% comparison is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent universal test.

Do older chargers and bands work?
Do not assume a Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, or Pixel Watch 3 charging puck will work. Google’s accessory documentation identifies the Quick Charge Dock for Pixel Watch 4 and lists earlier chargers for their respective older watches, but does not list those older chargers as Pixel Watch 4-compatible. Keep an old puck for the watch it supports rather than treating it as a Pixel Watch 4 accessory.

Why the redesign matters beyond charging
Google says Pixel Watch 4 is its first Pixel Watch designed to be serviceable, including replaceable battery and display components. That is a meaningful change for long-term ownership: a worn battery or damaged display may not automatically mean replacing the entire watch.
Serviceable does not mean every repair is cheap, available in every country, or suitable for owners to perform themselves. Before relying on a repair, check authorized partners, parts availability, warranty exclusions, regional policies, and whether water-resistance protection is affected after opening the case.

- Peak display brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

- Requires a Google Account and the Pixel Watch app.
LTE bands, satellite SOS, FeliCa, emergency functions, and carrier support vary by country and configuration. Pixel Watch 4 is not compatible with iPhone.

Prices, LTE and current buying advice
Google’s U.S. launch prices were $349 for 41mm Wi-Fi, $449 for 41mm LTE, $399 for 45mm Wi-Fi, and $499 for 45mm LTE. The current U.S. Google Store configuration page lists the 41mm from $349.99 and the 45mm from $399.99, with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and LTE selections. Prices, taxes, trade-in values, carrier eligibility, and promotions can change.
Google has also displayed an offer of two years of data on eligible LTE purchases, subject to the terms shown at checkout. Treat that as a promotional condition, not permanent cellular service; LTE still requires a supported carrier and may create recurring costs after the offer ends.

Choose LTE when
- You need calls, messages, navigation, or emergency connectivity away from your phone.
- Your carrier and region support the watch.
- You accept activation and ongoing service considerations.
Choose Wi-Fi/Bluetooth when
- You normally carry your phone.
- You want the lowest upfront cost.
- You do not need standalone cellular connectivity.
What the Pixel Watch 4 means for existing owners
- Budget for the Quick Charge Dock; an older charging puck is not documented as compatible.
- Check the case size before buying bands. 41mm has broader backward compatibility; 45mm bands mainly carry over from Pixel Watch 3.
- Do not infer real-world battery life from Google’s ratings or from the original leak’s renders.
- If repairability matters, confirm local service availability and post-repair water-resistance terms.
Bottom line
The two-size Pixel Watch 4 leak was accurate, but the charger is the real ownership change. Choose 41mm for a lighter, less conspicuous watch and lower price; choose 45mm for the larger display and materially longer rated endurance. Either way, plan on Google’s new Quick Charge Dock, and verify every band, case, stand, and LTE service before purchase.
