At the Paris “Ride the Wind” launch, Huawei introduced the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6, WATCH GT 6 Pro and WATCH Ultimate 2. The event is now historical, so availability and prices should be checked in your country rather than treated as a single global launch.
There is also a date trap: Huawei held another September 19 launch in 2024. That Barcelona event introduced the WATCH GT 5 series, WATCH D2 and WATCH Ultimate Green.
Which September 19 Huawei event do you mean?
The relevant current-generation event took place in Paris on September 19, 2025. Huawei’s official event page lists the GT 6 family and Ultimate 2 alongside the MatePad 12 X, nova 14 phones, FreeBuds 7i and other accessories: Huawei’s 2025 launch announcement.
On September 19, 2024, Huawei instead held a Barcelona launch that unveiled the WATCH GT 5 series, WATCH D2 and a green edition of the WATCH Ultimate. Those are separate generations and should not be mixed into the GT 6 story.

What Huawei launched in 2025
| Model | Positioning | Main strengths | Important caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| WATCH GT 6 | Mainstream sports and health smartwatch | Long claimed battery life, fitness tracking and cycling tools | Less premium construction and potentially fewer advanced features than Pro |
| WATCH GT 6 Pro | Premium outdoor-sports model | Sapphire glass, titanium options and advanced sports functions | Higher price; materials and health features vary by configuration and market |
| WATCH Ultimate 2 | Adventure and diving flagship | 150-meter diving technology and underwater communication | Large, expensive and specialized for most smartwatch buyers |
HUAWEI WATCH GT 6: the practical choice
The GT 6 is Huawei’s general-purpose sports watch. Huawei’s product materials highlight wrist-based cycling power, multi-dimensional emotional-wellbeing features and the company’s TruSense sensing platform. It supports Android and iOS, although “compatible” does not guarantee identical features on both platforms; the Huawei Health app, phone operating system and country can affect messaging, payments, voice functions and health services.
Battery claims
Huawei rates the 46mm GT 6 for up to 21 days in light use or 12 days in typical use. The 41mm version is rated for up to 14 days in light use or 7 days in typical use. These are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. GPS workouts, calls, notifications, health monitoring, display settings and other functions can reduce runtime. See Huawei’s product page for the stated test conditions: WATCH GT 6 specifications.
Who it suits
- People who want long battery life and core fitness, sleep, GPS and notification functions.
- Buyers choosing between 41mm and 46mm cases.
- Anyone who does not need the Pro’s premium materials or the Ultimate 2’s diving equipment.
HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro: premium materials and sport tools
The GT 6 Pro is not merely a software upgrade. Huawei uses sapphire glass and titanium on selected versions, and positions the watch for golf, trail running, cycling and other outdoor activities. Huawei also lists ECG analysis and TruSense health sensing, but ECG and other regulated health functions can depend on country approval, software and user eligibility. Treat the local support page as authoritative rather than assuming every region has the same feature set.

Huawei gives the Pro the same headline battery ratings as the 46mm GT 6—up to 21 days in light use and 12 days in typical use—under Huawei’s conditions. The premium price therefore reflects construction and specialist sports capabilities as well as software. Details are listed on Huawei’s product page: WATCH GT 6 Pro.

Who should pay more
- Outdoor athletes who value sapphire’s scratch resistance and titanium on selected configurations.
- Golfers, trail runners and cyclists who will use the additional training tools.
- Buyers for whom a premium case matters more than obtaining the broadest smartwatch app ecosystem.
HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2: a specialist diving watch
The Ultimate 2 is Huawei’s high-priced adventure model. Launch coverage describes it as rated for 150-meter diving and equipped with underwater communication; Huawei’s regional materials describe liquid-metal construction, 150-meter diving technology and sonar-based underwater communication. See the regional product listings at Huawei’s Saudi wearable store.
A depth rating is not permission for every kind of dive. Follow Huawei’s safety instructions, account for saltwater, temperature, impact and maintenance, and use equipment appropriate to the dive. For notifications, sleep tracking and ordinary workouts, the GT 6 or GT 6 Pro is generally the more rational comparison.

Release dates and regional availability
Huawei’s support information identifies September 19, 2025 as the GT 6 series release date in Europe, which Huawei describes as the first region to market: GT 6 release information. That is not a worldwide retail date.
Huawei’s China purchase guide lists formal sales from September 29, 2025 for initial GT 6 configurations and from October 20, 2025 for initial GT 6 Pro configurations. Additional sizes and colors arrived later, including some in 2026. Retail timing, colors, straps and included promotions differ by market.
Prices: use the local Huawei store
There is no single global MSRP to quote responsibly. Huawei’s China guide lists approximately ¥1,488–¥2,088 for GT 6 configurations and ¥2,488–¥3,388 for GT 6 Pro configurations. The current China pages show starting prices of ¥1,488 and ¥2,488 respectively: China purchase guide.

Choose the WATCH Ultimate 2 when
You specifically dive, pursue demanding adventure activities or want Huawei’s most specialist construction. Its size, price and diving focus make it excessive for basic smartwatch needs.
Consider another platform when
Third-party apps, cellular-carrier support, Apple or Google integration, or broad regionally approved medical functions are your priorities. Apple Watch is the natural ecosystem choice for iPhone owners; Galaxy Watch suits many Android and Samsung users; Garmin emphasizes serious training. Exact compatibility and prices depend on the model and country.
Important buying checks
- Phone support: Android and iOS compatibility does not mean feature parity. Check Huawei Health requirements for your phone and region.
- Health functions: ECG, blood-pressure-related tools and other health features can be restricted by regulation, software and eligibility. These watches should not be treated as medical diagnostic devices without explicit local documentation.
- Battery: “Up to” ratings are Huawei’s usage-mode claims, not independent endurance benchmarks.
- Diving: Follow the manufacturer’s depth, maintenance and safety guidance; 150 meters is not unrestricted waterproofing.
- Availability: A listing on Huawei’s China, Saudi, European or global site does not establish US availability or an official US price.
What happened to the earlier 2024 announcement?
If the headline you saw was written before the 2024 event, it referred to the WATCH GT 5 series, WATCH D2 and WATCH Ultimate Green. Huawei said the GT 5 series launched globally from September 19, 2024, with Danish recommended prices ranging from DKK 2,199 to DKK 4,899 in the cited announcement: 2024 GT 5 launch coverage. Those prices and products should not be presented as the 2025 GT 6 launch.
The Bottom Line
The September 19 event readers usually mean was Huawei’s Paris launch on September 19, 2025. The WATCH GT 6 is the value-oriented all-rounder, the GT 6 Pro adds premium materials and outdoor-sports features, and the Ultimate 2 targets serious adventure and diving. Check your local Huawei store for current availability, supported health functions and price before buying.
