Each was limited to 99 pieces, priced at ¥88,000 before tax, and is now marked sold out by the brand with no restock planned.
What are the Kurotsuki and Usuki?
Kiwame Tokyo is an Asakusa-based Japanese microbrand. Kurotsuki and Usuki were its debut references and were presented as affordable releases in Fratello Watches’ September 27, 2025 launch coverage. Both models share the same compact case, regulated Japan-made movement and practical specification; the choice is mainly a matter of dial color and visual contrast.

Kurotsuki: the black-moon design
Kurotsuki (黒月, “black moon”) has a deep, glossy black lacquer dial. Vertically brushed applied Arabic numerals keep the surface from appearing flat, while white printed minute markings provide the primary time-reading contrast. Sculpted syringe-style hands continue the restrained, graphic approach.
Its seconds hand adds the strongest color accent: a burgundy body ending in a luminous tip shaped after the roofline of Asakusa’s Kaminarimon Gate. That local reference is subtle at a glance but gives the otherwise monochrome dial a distinctly Tokyo identity.

Usuki: a warmer alternative
Usuki (浅黄, a traditional light-yellow hue) replaces the black dial with a warm ivory or light-yellow lacquer. Its applied numerals are black-coated, creating a softer, warmer contrast than Kurotsuki’s brushed-metal numerals against black.
The seconds hand is heat-blued steel rather than burgundy. It retains the same luminous Kaminarimon-roofline tip, so the two watches remain visually related despite their different palettes. Kiwame Tokyo says the Usuki dial color was refined through repeated prototyping.

Movement and construction
Miyota 9039 automatic
Both references use a regulated, Japan-made Miyota Cal. 9039 automatic movement. The shared calibre means the mechanical specification does not decide between the models; dial execution does.

Those dimensions should suit readers seeking a contemporary watch that remains relatively compact. The 100-metre rating is appropriate for normal daily wear and swimming when the crown is properly secured, while activity-specific limits should still follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Strap, fit and package contents
Each watch is supplied on an Italian genuine calf-leather strap with quick-release spring bars. The published strap tapers from 20mm at the lugs to 16mm at the buckle and is stated to fit wrists from 16cm to 21cm. The package includes the watch, warranty card and instruction manual.
For a replacement, look for a 20mm quick-release leather strap and verify both lug width and buckle measurements before ordering. The 20mm figure is the lug-side width; it does not mean every 20mm strap will match the supplied buckle or taper.

Choose Kurotsuki if you want the highest-contrast, monochrome presentation with a burgundy accent. Choose Usuki if an ivory dial, black numerals and blue seconds hand better fit your wardrobe or collection. There is no documented mechanical or dimensional advantage to either model.

As of October 1, 2026, the official product pages mark both 99-piece editions as sold out and state that they will not be restocked. They are therefore not currently available new from Kiwame Tokyo’s official store. Kiwame Tokyo’s product pages advertise worldwide shipping and a 24-month warranty for purchases made through the brand. Those terms describe the brand’s direct offering; they do not guarantee warranty coverage for a secondary-market purchase, so buyers should confirm transfer conditions with Kiwame Tokyo.
Bottom line
Kurotsuki and Usuki are two executions of the same compact Japanese automatic formula: a regulated Miyota 9039, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, 316L steel and 100-metre water resistance in a 38mm case. Kurotsuki is the black, burgundy-accented option; Usuki is the warm ivory, black-and-blue alternative. Both original 99-piece editions sold for ¥88,000 before tax and are now officially sold out without a planned restock.
