Its stainless-steel case, rose-gold-capped bidirectional bezel and black dial give the anniversary model a distinct specification within the Spirit Zulu Time line.
Why Longines made a Zulu Time 1925
Longines announced the watch on June 26, 2025, at an event at Lausanne-La Blécherette Airport. The company framed it as a centenary edition commemorating its first dual-time-zone wristwatch, made in 1925. According to Longines’ account of that watch, the original featured a Zulu flag on its dial. The brand explains that “Zulu” is the letter Z, used to designate universal time for aviators.

The modern watch carries that aviation and dual-time theme forward through its GMT display. Longines’ campaign puts the practical question plainly: “What time is it there?”—a useful way to think about the complication when coordinating with someone in another time zone.

These are the manufacturer’s stated specifications, not independent test results. The technical sheet describes magnetic-field resistance in relation to ISO 764 but does not quantify a multiplier.
What the GMT and date add
The GMT function makes a second time zone part of the watch’s display, complementing the local time and date functions. It is the most direct link between the modern reference and Longines’ centenary story: a watch built around tracking time across places, rather than simply revisiting a historic dial motif.

Longines ambassador Henry Cavill described the broader Spirit Zulu Time idea as a source of connection when people are far apart. That wording comes from Longines campaign copy and is a personal endorsement, not an assessment of this particular reference’s performance.
