It combines conventional chronograph proportions and mechanics with Studio Underd0g’s deliberately playful visual language.
What makes the Salm0n significant
Studio Underd0g had already previewed its monopusher concept in the H. Moser & Cie. Project Passion collaboration. The Salm0n is the first time that concept appears as a standalone 03SERIES production model, rather than as part of that collaboration.
It also marked the brand’s move into regular production with a Swiss-powered movement. The result is a watch that uses familiar mechanical architecture while presenting it in an unusually expressive package.
Movement: a hand-wound Swiss monopusher
Sellita SW510 M
The Salm0n uses the manually wound, cam-operated Sellita SW510 M. Its monopusher chronograph is operated through a single control rather than separate start, stop and reset pushers. The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and is listed with 63 hours of power reserve.

Studio Underd0g specifies the Elaboré grade at an accuracy of ±5 seconds per day. That is the manufacturer’s stated specification, not an independent timing test.
What manual winding means in daily use
- You wind the watch by hand rather than relying on a rotor.
- The 63-hour reserve can carry the watch through more than two days when fully wound, depending on use and actual running performance.
- The cam-operated construction is a conventional, serviceable chronograph approach, while the single-pusher layout gives the case a cleaner profile than a conventional two-pusher design.

The 38.5 mm diameter and 44.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement place the watch in a compact modern range. Its 13.6 mm thickness reflects the space required for a hand-wound chronograph, so diameter alone does not describe how prominently it will sit on the wrist. The official 5 ATM rating is suitable for everyday splashes, but it is not a swimming specification.

The salmon-skin-inspired dial
The dial is not simply a flat salmon-colored surface. Studio Underd0g describes a two-layer construction consisting of a radial-brushed base dial beneath a coarse dégradé top dial. The launch concept draws on the irregular shimmer and texture of salmon skin.
That treatment creates the Salm0n’s central contrast: the layout remains recognizably that of a mechanical chronograph, while the surface is intentionally less formal than the restrained salmon dials associated with traditional dress watches.

Super-LumiNova C3 is used for low-light visibility. As with any textured or strongly colored dial, the surface treatment is part of the visual appeal and can affect how quickly the hands and indications read under different lighting conditions.
Strap and compatibility
The watch takes 20 mm straps and uses quick-release spring bars. The supplied strap is Italian Epsom leather made by The Strap Tailor. A replacement strap should therefore be specified as 20 mm and checked for both its attachment shape and its length before purchase; quick-release hardware does not guarantee that every 20 mm strap will fit every case perfectly.

Price, launch timing and buying terms
Current listed price
At the manufacturer’s current listing, the Salm0n is priced at £1,750. That is the figure to use for present-day UK pricing, rather than the original preorder numbers.
Historical preorder terms
Preorders opened on 17 September 2024 for nine hours through Studio Underd0g’s website. Launch coverage from 15 September 2024 reported prices of £1,700, €1,800 and US$2,000. Those were launch terms and should not be treated as the current price.

Shipping and taxes
The official product page states that watch orders receive free shipping, while destination-specific charges differ. EU orders are described as DDU, and US orders as DDP; sales tax may apply in some US states. Check the live product page for the terms that apply to your delivery address because duties, tax treatment and other charges are regional.
How the Salm0n fits the 03SERIES idea
The 03SERIES uses a familiar complication as a canvas for Studio Underd0g’s humor and color. In the Salm0n, the one-button chronograph, hand-wound movement and compact steel case provide conventional watchmaking reference points. The layered, salmon-skin-inspired dial supplies the disruptive element.
Founder Richard Benc described the concept with the line, “Every reputable brand must have a salmon dial watch in their product assortment if they wish to be taken seriously.” It is a playful statement of intent, not a literal industry rule, and it explains why the model treats the salmon-dial tradition as something to reinterpret rather than imitate.
Who should consider it
- Choose it if you want: a compact mechanical chronograph, hand-wound ownership, a single-pusher interface and a dial with unusual texture and color.
- Think carefully if you need: automatic winding, more than 5 ATM of water resistance, a thin case, or a conservative dial that disappears under a cuff.
- Check before ordering: the current regional price, DDU or DDP treatment, any applicable sales tax, strap length and the fit of replacement 20 mm straps.
Verdict
The Salm0n is a focused debut for the standalone 03SERIES: a properly specified Swiss-powered monopusher chronograph whose identity comes from the dial rather than from an exotic complication. Its 38.5 mm case, 63-hour hand-wound Sellita movement and 20 mm quick-release strap make the fundamentals straightforward; the two-layer salmon-skin-inspired surface is what makes the watch unmistakably Studio Underd0g.
