NO.1 F1 Smartband Review: Was It Really Better Than the Xiaomi Mi Band 2?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Short answer: the NO.1 F1 was better on paper and often in practice for battery endurance, screen size, notification detail and continuous heart-rate monitoring. The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 was the safer ownership choice because it was smaller, better established and easier to source in several markets. Neither is a sensible default purchase in 2026 without checking app support, battery condition, charging hardware and returns.

What the NO.1 F1 was

The NO.1 F1—also called the No.1 Smartband F1 or DT No.1 F1 in period coverage—was a low-cost fitness band from Chinese brand NO.1, marketed directly against the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. “DT” appears in some retailer and review branding; it was not presented as a separate hardware model.

This is a historical comparison with a modern ownership warning. Contemporary listings and reviews date from roughly 2016–2017. As of August 18, 2026, no current official listing confirmed app availability, firmware support, replacement chargers or reliable stock.

Feature NO.1 F1 Xiaomi Mi Band 2 What it means
Display 0.91-inch OLED touchscreen (period specification) Smaller OLED display F1 shows more information; Mi Band 2 is more discreet.
Battery 230 mAh claimed 70 mAh reported in contemporary comparison coverage F1 has a substantial capacity advantage, but capacity is not runtime.
Claimed endurance Up to 100 days, wording varied between standby and use About 20–24 days in one contemporary review Real use depends on sensors, notifications and screen activity.
Heart rate Dynamic/continuous monitoring claimed Heart-rate measurement available F1 offers the more prominent feature, not proven medical accuracy.
Water resistance IP68 claimed IP67 reported in period comparison coverage Neither rating guarantees every swimming, shower or diving scenario.
Connectivity Bluetooth 4.0 Bluetooth connectivity Both use legacy hardware; current-phone pairing must be verified.
Notifications Calls, SMS and selected app notifications Basic call, message and app notifications F1 could expose more information on the band.
Tracking Steps, distance, calories, sleep, sedentary alerts and alarms Comparable basic activity and sleep functions Both produce estimates, not clinical measurements.
Charging Magnetic USB cable Proprietary charging accessory Finding the correct cable is a major used-device risk.
Reported colors Black, blue and orange Varied by market and band option Regional stock differed.

These F1 specifications come from period reviews such as Gadzet.telchina.pl; they are not current manufacturer support specifications.

Battery life: the F1’s clearest advantage

What was advertised

Period listings associated the 230 mAh battery with “up to 100 days” of standby or battery life. That is a manufacturer-associated maximum, not a guaranteed normal-use result.

What reviewers actually saw

Results varied. One Polish review reported roughly one and a half months after about a month of use. Other coverage repeated figures approaching 100 days and contrasted them with roughly 20–24 days for the Mi Band 2. An individual comparison reported the F1 still holding substantial charge after several days while the Mi Band 2 needed charging after around four days in that person’s usage. These are not controlled, directly comparable laboratory tests.

The defensible conclusion is that the F1 generally lasted much longer when new, but the maximum figure should not be treated as ordinary active-use endurance. Runtime changes with dynamic heart-rate monitoring, notification volume, screen activation, Bluetooth behavior, battery age and whether the quoted mode is standby.

Charging in 2026

A band manufactured around 2016–2017 may have sharply reduced capacity, slow charging, swelling or an intermittent magnetic connection. For a used F1, battery condition matters more than its original 230 mAh specification.

Heart-rate monitoring and activity tracking

Continuous monitoring is a feature, not proof of accuracy

The F1’s dynamic heart-rate mode was its main sensor differentiator. Contemporary coverage described readings taken continuously while the band was worn, but the detailed Polish review also questioned precision and characterized results as approximate (review evidence). A stable-looking number can be wrong; a rapidly changing number is not automatically more accurate.

  • Resting and ordinary walking are relatively easy use cases for either band.
  • Strength training and intervals are harder because wrist movement and rapid changes disrupt optical sensors.
  • A loose fit, sweat or poor skin contact can invalidate a comparison.
  • Neither device has established clinical accuracy and neither should guide diagnosis, emergencies or medically important training zones.

Steps, distance, calories and sleep

The F1 tracked steps, estimated distance and calories, sleep, sedentary periods and alarms. User reports were generally favorable about step counting, including one claim that it outperformed the Mi Band 2 in some situations, but that was anecdotal. Both products infer distance and calories from motion and profile data; they do not measure either directly. Sleep stages are algorithmic classifications rather than clinical sleep staging. Use the numbers for personal trends, not precision.

Display, controls and comfort

The 0.91-inch F1 OLED could show time, date, day, battery, Bluetooth status, steps, distance and heart rate. Reviewers described touch-sensitive areas on both sides, allowing movement between screens without cycling through every metric (period review). This made it more watch-like and useful when checking data without a phone.

The Mi Band 2 took the opposite approach: a smaller, simpler and less conspicuous display. The F1 was described as rectangular and somewhat thicker, with a soft rubber or silicone strap and metal buckle. One user found it not dramatically larger on the wrist but thicker and less attractive than the Xiaomi (user comparison). Choose the F1 if visible information matters; choose the Mi Band 2 if a discreet band matters more. Check strap breathability, sleep comfort and the availability of replacement straps before buying used.

Water resistance: what IP68 did—and did not—mean

NO.1 advertised IP68 protection, and period coverage included an immersion demonstration (iGeekPhone coverage). That supports a tested claim under particular conditions; it does not make every unit waterproof forever.

  • IP68 depends on the manufacturer’s specified depth and duration.
  • It is not an unlimited swimming, shower or salt-water guarantee.
  • Seals degrade with age, impact and casing damage.
  • A second-hand F1 should not be trusted around water solely because a video survived immersion.

Inspect for cracks, corrosion, swelling and damaged straps. “Advertised IP68 water resistance” is accurate; “indestructible” or universally waterproof is not.

App, notifications and ecosystem

Period reviews described a simple companion app with historical step, sleep and heart-rate charts plus call, SMS and selected application notifications. Android and iOS support was reported at the time, but options varied by operating system and app version. One user reported that iOS notifications could show less identifying information, including not always showing who sent a message (user report).

In 2026 this is the F1’s largest practical uncertainty. The original app may be unavailable, incompatible with modern permission systems or unable to sync reliably. A dead QR code or unknown APK is not a safe substitute for a legitimate app-store listing. Before purchasing, verify that the app exists from a trustworthy source, the band can pair with the intended phone, the included charger works and the seller accepts returns.

Category winners

Category Winner Reason
Battery endurance NO.1 F1 Much larger claimed battery and stronger period endurance reports.
Display NO.1 F1 Larger OLED and more on-device information.
Heart-rate feature set NO.1 F1 Dynamic monitoring was a headline differentiator.
Confidence in accuracy Uncertain/tie No rigorous validation was published in the cited period reports.
Size and discretion Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Smaller and less visually prominent.
Ecosystem confidence at launch Xiaomi Mi Band 2 More established and familiar, with easier local availability in some markets.
Water-resistance claim NO.1 F1 on paper IP68 versus period-reported IP67, without a universal-use guarantee.
Launch value NO.1 F1 Period import listings were about $19.99–$26.03, depending on retailer, coupon and market.
2026 ownership Neither by default App, battery, accessory and compatibility risks apply to both.

Historical price and ownership cost

Period F1 listings ranged from approximately $19.99 to $26.03, with another report citing $21.83 (contemporary pricing coverage). These were often import prices, excluding variable shipping, taxes, customs, warranty handling and returns. A cheap listing did not guarantee a cheap ownership experience. Xiaomi’s advantage in some regions, including India, was local availability; one review recommended the Mi Band 2 there despite praising the F1’s battery (Gogi.in).

Failure checks before buying a used unit

  1. Confirm a legitimate companion app is currently available for your phone.
  2. Ask for battery-condition details and evidence that the band charges normally.
  3. Ensure the correct magnetic or proprietary cable is included and replaceable.
  4. Remove old Bluetooth pairings and charge the device before attempting setup.
  5. Check for cracks, corrosion, swelling and damaged seals; do not rely on an old IP68 claim.
  6. Buy only with clear returns and buyer protection; avoid seller-provided APKs and disappearing import listings.

Final buying advice

Choose the NO.1 F1 if your historical priority is long battery life, a larger screen and more information visible on the band, and you accept import and support uncertainty. Choose the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 if you value a smaller design, a more familiar ecosystem and easier ownership at the time of launch.

For a 2026 purchase, neither should be recommended without verified app compatibility, a healthy battery, the correct charger and return protection. The F1 was a compelling budget alternative and often the specification winner—not an unequivocal Mi Band 2 replacement.
