The roundup reports 200m water resistance and a Miyota automatic movement with roughly 40 hours of reserve. Its 44mm width, 51mm lug-to-lug and 15.5mm thickness point to a substantial fit. The reported prices differ by configuration: $469 on rubber or $499 on a steel bracelet.
For a quartz chronograph with an integrated bracelet: Tissot PRX Chronograph Quartz
The PRX uses an ETA G10.212 PowerDrive quartz movement. Its chronograph includes a 30-minute counter, 1/10-second display, and ADD and SPLIT functions. Sapphire and reported 100m water resistance add practical appeal, while the steel integrated bracelet defines its look. Although the case is listed at 41mm, the roundup warns that its broad case can wear larger than that diameter suggests.

For a compact everyday automatic: Citizen Tsuyosa 60 37mm
The Tsuyosa 60 is the compact automatic pick, with a reported 37mm case, Citizen caliber 8310, hacking seconds and a 60-hour power reserve. It has a date, anti-reflective sapphire and 50m water resistance. The roundup lists black and mint-green dials on steel; it does not give dimensions beyond the 37mm case width.
How to compare the specifications without overreading them
- Start with fit. Case width alone does not describe how a watch wears. Lug-to-lug is supplied for the Ironman and Deepwater, while the roundup specifically cautions that the PRX may feel broad. Try a similar-sized case and bracelet shape if fit is uncertain.
- Match the movement to your preference. The Ironman and both chronographs are quartz-based (the Ironman is ana-digi); the Deepwater and Tsuyosa are automatic. The Tsuyosa has the longest stated reserve in this roundup, at 60 hours; the Deepwater’s is roughly 40 hours.
- Treat water resistance and materials as specifications, not a complete use guarantee. The reported figures range from 50m on the Marlin and Tsuyosa to 200m on the Deepwater. Crystal materials also vary: acrylic on the Marlin, sapphire on the Deepwater, PRX and Tsuyosa. Those details help distinguish the models, but they do not establish suitability for every activity or substitute for the maker’s care guidance.
- Compare like-for-like configurations. The Deepwater’s price changes between rubber and steel bracelet, and the Marlin’s cream dial on steel is reported separately from its starting price. Confirm the exact model and included strap or bracelet before relying on a listing price.
What this list says about September’s affordable-watch releases
Penate’s editorial take is that several of the month’s affordable releases borrowed cues or features associated with pricier watches: a helium escape valve on the Timex diver, navigational scales on a chronograph, an integrated-bracelet quartz PRX, and a compact Tsuyosa automatic. That is the roundup’s interpretation, not a measured claim about the watch market as a whole. Penate also notes that some models cost more than earlier versions and that some other September announcements lacked confirmed US prices at the time.
