Google also announced a Gemini-built personal health coach, but its launch announcement described a planned U.S. preview rather than confirming broad, current availability.
Pixel Watch 4 battery life by case size
Google says the Pixel Watch 4 delivers 25% longer battery life than the previous Pixel Watch generation. Its current specifications give separate estimates for each case size:

These are Google estimates, not guaranteed everyday runtimes. Google says its maximum-battery figures are approximate and based on pre-production hardware and software, default settings and a defined median-use profile. GPS activity, cellular use, notifications, display settings and health tracking can all change actual endurance.
What the 25% improvement means
The 25% figure is Google’s comparison with the prior Pixel Watch generation. It does not mean every owner will gain exactly 25% more time between charges, because usage patterns and settings differ.

Charging differences between the 41 mm and 45 mm models
Both sizes are estimated to reach 50% in about 15 minutes. The smaller watch is estimated to reach full charge in about 45 minutes, while the 45 mm version takes about 60 minutes. Google also says the Pixel Watch 4 charging dock is 25% faster than the previous dock.
Quick Charge Dock requirements
Google lists its Quick Charge Dock as compatible with both Pixel Watch 4 sizes. The dock requires a USB-C power adapter rated at least 7.5 W; that adapter is sold separately. Check the package contents and local listing before buying an additional charger.

What the AI health coach is supposed to do
Google announced a Gemini-built personal health coach for Fitbit and Pixel Watch users. The company described “proactive fitness and sleep coaching and on-demand guidance” based on watch metrics, personal goals and real-life circumstances.
Launch announcement versus current access
Google’s August 2025 launch post said a U.S. preview was planned for October 2025 through a redesigned Fitbit app. That statement established an intended preview, not universal availability. The announcement did not establish the service’s present geographic reach, eligibility rules, app branding or subscription requirements. Confirm those details in current Google or Fitbit documentation before relying on the coach as a buying reason.

What the coach does not prove
The feature description is a product claim, not independent evidence that the coach improves fitness, sleep or medical outcomes. A smartwatch’s sensors and software should not be treated as a diagnosis or a substitute for professional medical advice.
Hardware, software and phone compatibility
Google lists the Pixel Watch 4 in 41 mm and 45 mm cases with Wear OS 6.0, a Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor with a Cortex-M55 co-processor and a display rated up to 3,000 nits peak brightness.

The published sensor set includes optical heart-rate monitoring, ECG-compatible electrical sensors, blood-oxygen sensors, skin-temperature sensing and skin-conductance sensing. Sensor inclusion does not guarantee that every health function is enabled for every user or in every country.
Google says the watch works with most phones running Android 11.0 or newer and requires a Google Account and the Pixel Watch app. Phone, regional and health-feature requirements can change, so verify them for your location before purchase.

Which Pixel Watch 4 size makes more sense?
Choose 41 mm if you value a smaller case
- It is the more compact option for smaller wrists.
- Google’s estimate is up to 30 hours with the always-on display and up to 48 hours in Battery Saver.
- Full charging is estimated at about 45 minutes.
Choose 45 mm if endurance is the priority
- It offers Google’s longest published runtime: up to 40 hours with the always-on display.
- Battery Saver is estimated at up to 72 hours.
- Its estimated full-charge time is about 60 minutes.
Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and LTE versions may have different local availability, and LTE use can affect runtime. Google’s technical specifications do not establish current retailer stock, regional pricing or carrier-plan requirements.
Bottom line for buyers
The Pixel Watch 4’s clearest upgrade is the larger battery, especially in the 45 mm model. The 41 mm version remains the better fit when case size matters, while the 45 mm version offers the stronger endurance figures. The AI health coach is promising as a software addition, but because Google announced it as a planned U.S. preview, its current access and terms should be checked separately rather than assumed.
