The Rolex Submariner Date 16610LV and 126610LV share a black dial and green bezel, but they belong to different generations. The 16610LV is the 2003 anniversary model with an anodized aluminium insert; the 126610LV is the modern 41 mm version with a ceramic Cerachrom insert, calibre 3235 and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Choose between the older watch’s vintage construction and condition-sensitive ownership and the newer watch’s updated materials, movement and bracelet.
What do “Kermit” and “Starbucks” mean?
Collectors and watch publications commonly use “Kermit” for the 16610LV and “Starbucks” for the 126610LV. These are informal nicknames, not Rolex model names. Both references pair a black dial with a green bezel; the green-dial 116610LV, often called the “Hulk,” sits between them in the broader lineage described by Fratello and Monochrome.

How the green bezels differ
The most visible material change is anodized aluminium on the 16610LV versus ceramic Cerachrom on the 126610LV. Rolex identifies the 16610LV’s green anodized insert as a first for the Submariner range in 2003. Its history says Cerachrom replaced anodized aluminium on the Submariner Date in 2010.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The materials make the bezel a useful point of comparison, but the condition of a particular older watch matters: do not assume every 16610LV insert has faded or aged in the same way. Monochrome also reports a later-production variation in the 126610LV’s green tone. Treat the actual watch and insert as the evidence; the source does not establish a formally named Rolex version for that variation.
What changed beyond the bezel?
The 2020 redesign brought revised proportions and bracelet lines across the Submariner range. The Date version moved to calibre 3235 and a 41 mm case, according to Rolex. That gives the 126610LV a larger stated diameter and a newer bracelet-and-clasp configuration than the 16610LV described in Fratello’s comparison.

Which one should you choose?
Choose the 16610LV if its older construction is the point
- You want the 2003 anniversary-era Submariner Date and its aluminium bezel insert.
- You prefer the proportions and bracelet generation of the older reference, subject to trying an example on your wrist.
- You are prepared to assess an individual pre-owned watch’s originality, wear and service history rather than treating the reference name as a guarantee of condition.
Choose the 126610LV if you want the current-generation specification
- You prefer a 41 mm case, ceramic bezel and updated Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock and Glidelock.
- The calibre 3235’s approximately 70-hour reserve is more useful to you than the approximately 48 hours Fratello reports for calibre 3135 in the older model.
- You want a model Rolex currently presents on its US website, while checking availability and pricing in your own market.

- Check bracelet wear or stretch and the condition of the clasp.
- Ask for service records and clarify what work was done and when.
- Use seller and authentication safeguards appropriate to a valuable pre-owned watch; Rolex says only official Rolex jewelers are allowed to sell and maintain a Rolex watch, but that statement alone does not authenticate every other listing.
Price and availability depend on market and condition
At the time the Rolex US page was accessed on 2026-10-04, it listed the 126610LV at $11,900 USD. That is a volatile, US-specific list-price snapshot—not a global price, transaction price or resale valuation. Check the official Rolex page for the current listing, and confirm availability with a seller in your market.
No current secondary-market price range or transaction data is established here for either reference. For the discontinued 16610LV in particular, condition and documentation are central to assessing an individual offer; the reference alone does not establish value.
