There is no official Samsung product called the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. Samsung’s rugged premium watch is the Galaxy Watch Ultra line, and its newest model, Galaxy Watch Ultra2, was announced on July 22, 2026, with general availability beginning August 7 in select markets. As of August 18, 2026, its launch is already over; local stock and offers may vary.
Why “Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” is the wrong name
Samsung used Galaxy Watch7 for its standard smartwatch line and Galaxy Watch Ultra for a separate rugged, premium model. The 2026 successor is officially called Galaxy Watch Ultra2, not Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. The mistaken name appears to combine the Watch7 generation label with the distinct Ultra branding.
Samsung also lists a previous model as Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). That is a separate product from Ultra2, so check the full model name and SKU when comparing listings.

Samsung’s announcement gives the broad launch dates, not a guarantee of availability in every country. For Japan, Samsung stated that preorders began July 23 and sales began August 7. Ultra2 versus the earlier Galaxy Watch Ultra models
| Model | What is established | Price information |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Watch Ultra2 | Samsung’s 2026 Ultra model; announced July 22, with general availability from August 7 in select markets | A current US price is not established by the cited material; check Samsung’s live listing |
| Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) | A distinct previous model, identified by Samsung’s US store | Current price varies; verify the exact listing and SKU |
| Galaxy Watch Ultra | Earlier Ultra product; Samsung’s US materials list an LTE model | Samsung’s US MSRP file observed in June 2026 listed $649.99; this is an MSRP signal, not a current sale price |
The available official material does not establish a complete, line-by-line Ultra2 upgrade comparison for processor, battery, sensors, GPS, software, cellular bands or accessory fit. Do not assume a change in any of those areas from the “Ultra2” name. Samsung’s US pages identify the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) and Galaxy Watch Ultra separately. The June 2026 MSRP file is Samsung’s US wearables price list.

Consider Galaxy Watch9 for everyday use
Samsung announced Galaxy Watch9 alongside Ultra2, and its US lineup includes 40mm and 44mm Watch9 models. It is the more natural place to start if you prefer a conventional everyday watch size and do not need the Ultra’s rugged positioning. Samsung’s US watch lineup lists current products; a current Watch9 price is not established by the cited June 2026 MSRP file.
Consider Galaxy Watch8 Classic for a traditional style
If a conventional watch appearance and rotating bezel matter more than the Ultra design, compare the Watch8 Classic. Samsung’s June 2026 US MSRP file listed $499.99 for Bluetooth and $549.99 for LTE models; those figures are MSRP, not necessarily current selling prices. See Samsung’s watch comparison page for its lineup.

Look at an earlier Ultra if the discount is substantial
The original Galaxy Watch Ultra or the 2025 model may be worth considering if its price is meaningfully below Ultra2 and you do not need features specific to the newer model. Compare the exact model year, SKU, local LTE compatibility and support information rather than relying on a shortened retailer title.

- LTE is not free service: cellular use depends on a compatible carrier plan and activation in your country. Confirm that the exact model number works on your carrier before ordering.
- Phone and health-feature support can vary: Samsung notes that some software and health features vary by market, model and paired phone. Check the specific feature requirements before buying. [Samsung’s feature-availability note]
- Do not assume iPhone support: the cited material does not establish current iPhone compatibility. Check Samsung’s current compatibility guidance for your market and phone.
- Separate MSRP, sale price and trade-in value: a trade-in or store-credit offer can lower the effective cost, but is not the same as a permanent price reduction. Samsung’s US page recorded a preorder offer of up to $100 Samsung Credit for July 22–August 6, 2026; that window has passed and should not be treated as a current offer. [Samsung US watches page]
- Confirm the model year: Samsung’s store continues to identify Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) separately, which makes checking the full product name and SKU especially useful when older stock remains listed.
Should you wait for a Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra?
No. “Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” is not the confirmed name of a Samsung product, and the actual successor, Galaxy Watch Ultra2, has already launched in select markets. Waiting may still make sense if you are outside those markets, want to compare local LTE support, or are watching for a discount on Ultra2 or an earlier Ultra. If you are shopping now, compare the live price and exact model rather than waiting for a launch under the wrong name.
