Anatel homologated Samsung model SM-L705F on June 10, 2024, clearing a regulatory hurdle for its sale in Brazil. The filing identified the device by model number rather than retail name, but matching Samsung support information and other model references linked it to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The approval signaled a likely Brazilian launch; it did not announce a release date or guarantee LTE activation with every carrier.
What Anatel approved
The reported Anatel documentation lists model SM-L705F and a homologation date of June 10, 2024. It describes Wi‑Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth Low Energy, 3G and 4G connectivity, and a wireless charger. The filing reportedly listed manufacturing facilities in Manaus, Brazil, Vietnam and South Korea; that does not establish where any particular retail unit was made. Tecnoblog reported that CPDq conducted the tests described in the filing. Tecnoblog’s report covers those filing details.
The initial regulatory record identified the watch by model, not by the commercial name Galaxy Watch Ultra. That identification is strongly supported by Samsung’s Brazilian SM-L705F support page and the model’s references in other markets, but it is more precise to say Anatel homologated SM-L705F than to imply the filing itself named the retail product.
What homologation means—and what it does not
Anatel is Brazil’s telecommunications regulator. Its product-homologation process addresses conformity with applicable telecommunications requirements, including radio operation and relevant safety and electromagnetic-compatibility requirements. Anatel says homologation is required for telecommunications products to be commercialized and used in Brazil. Anatel’s certification overview explains the requirement.

Approval therefore removed a regulatory obstacle to sale; it was not a retail announcement, performance review or promise that every feature would work with every Brazilian operator or phone. In particular, radio certification alone does not establish carrier eSIM support.
What the LTE listing means for buyers
The certified configuration was reported to include cellular connectivity, so it was not simply a Bluetooth-only model. LTE can let a compatible watch connect to a mobile network when it is away from its paired phone, but practical use depends on the operator, eSIM provisioning, plan terms, regional compatibility and supported software. Check those requirements with the intended carrier before paying extra for cellular capability; Anatel approval does not guarantee activation on every network.

The later Brazilian launch confirmed the signal
Samsung subsequently announced Brazilian pre-registration from July 22 through August 4, 2024, sales beginning August 5, and early deliveries from August 8. Those dates came from Samsung’s later launch announcement, not from the June certification. Samsung Newsroom Brazil published the launch timeline.

Specifications: separate the filing from later product information
The certification record establishes regulatory details, not the watch’s complete feature set. Samsung’s Brazilian product page currently describes a 47 mm LTE model with titanium construction, dual-frequency L1/L5 GPS, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a display rated up to 3,000 nits, a 590 mAh battery, and 10 ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H durability claims. Samsung also states up to 60 hours with the always-on display enabled; this is an “up to” figure, not a guarantee for every usage pattern. LTE, GPS, workouts, display settings and health monitoring can affect battery life. See Samsung Brazil’s current product listing.
That page is labeled Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). It should not be treated as proof that every listed specification or software feature was established by the June 2024 filing—or as a model-by-model comparison with the original 2024 launch version. Check the exact model and SKU when comparing a listing with the SM-L705F certification. Water-resistance and durability ratings are not a promise of indestructibility or suitability for every water activity; wear, impact, repair and age can affect water resistance.

What to verify before buying in Brazil
- Exact model: Check the model number and SKU on the watch listing, especially for imports or products described only as “2025.”
- Cellular service: Ask the intended operator whether it supports smartwatch eSIM activation for that specific model, and whether a particular plan or paired-phone setup is required.
- Phone and health features: Confirm current Samsung compatibility requirements. Some health functions can depend on the phone, country, regulatory status or software version; certification does not establish their availability.
- Battery expectations: Treat Samsung’s endurance figure as conditional. LTE and continuous GPS use can reduce runtime compared with lighter use.
