A qualifying smartwatch reportedly secured at least $215 off, bringing the price to about $434.99. The promotion is not verified as a current offer in August 2026, and Samsung’s present offers show different amounts.
What the 50% deal actually meant
The original deal report described a Samsung trade-in promotion, not a universal half-price coupon. The watch started at $649.99, and the discount depended on the device submitted.

That arithmetic is consistent with Samsung’s March 2026 US MSRP sheet, which lists LTE Galaxy Watch Ultra variants at $649.99. The historical terms and prices were reported by Droid Life on May 26, 2025.
So the accurate description is “as little as half price with the best qualifying trade-in,” not “every Galaxy Watch Ultra was 50% off.”

Which watch was covered?
The report concerned the original Galaxy Watch Ultra, the premium 47mm LTE model sold at a $649.99 list price. Do not automatically apply the headline to the separately named Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, or any future Ultra-branded model. Samsung’s current product page identifies the 2025 model at this buying page, while the MSRP sheet lists several $649.99 LTE color variants.
What had to be traded in?
According to the 2025 report, Samsung’s selector included Samsung, Apple, Google and Garmin watches, plus an “Other” category that reportedly delivered the $215 minimum credit. That was a promotion-specific statement, not a permanent promise that any smartwatch will always qualify.

Check the model-specific quote in Samsung’s selector before assuming the historical “Other” category or $215 minimum still applies.
Is the deal still available?
Not on the evidence available. The source article is dated May 26, 2025, so its $324.99 outcome should be treated as expired unless a live Samsung checkout reproduces it.

- A product-page snapshot shows a Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) price of $549.99 from $649.99, but that is not proof that the 2025 $325 promotion remains active.
Because Samsung’s pages can reflect different campaigns, configurations or update times, the price and trade-in value shown in your region’s live product page and checkout control. Taxes, shipping, carrier activation and any wireless-plan cost are separate from the advertised merchandise discount.
What happens after you submit the trade-in?
Under Samsung’s current wearable-offer terms, the estimated credit is applied at purchase, but the transaction is conditional on Samsung receiving and approving the old device. The stated process includes these practical risks:

- Send the trade-in within 15 days after receiving the new purchase.
- Late shipment can result in Samsung charging back the applied credit.
- A failed inspection or mismatch with the declared condition can also trigger a chargeback under the active terms.
- Samsung generally limits the offer to one trade-in per qualifying purchase, and promotions may not be combinable unless the terms say so.
Terms can change, so read the offer attached to your checkout rather than relying on the 2025 promotion’s rules.

Trade-in checklist before ordering
- Enter the exact brand, model and condition in Samsung’s trade-in selector and save the quoted value.
- Compare that credit with what the watch could bring through a private sale; a functioning Apple Watch, Garmin or Pixel Watch may be worth more elsewhere.
- Photograph the watch, serial number and condition before packing it.
- Back up data, unpair it, remove account locks and perform a factory reset.
- Ship it by the deadline and keep the tracking receipt until Samsung completes inspection.
- Calculate the effective cost: checkout price minus confirmed credit, plus taxes, shipping, activation or replacement-band costs, and minus the resale value you gave up.
When the Ultra deal made sense
The promotion was most compelling for someone who already owned an unwanted smartwatch, qualified for a high trade-in tier and specifically wanted Samsung’s largest, rugged 47mm watch with LTE-oriented premium hardware. At the full $325 credit, the effective merchandise price was genuinely near half of list.
When another option is better
- You only receive the minimum credit: $434.99 is materially different from $324.99.
- Your old watch has higher resale value: selling privately may beat Samsung’s instant credit.
- You do not need Ultra hardware: a standard Galaxy Watch can cost less and be easier to wear.
- You dislike a possible chargeback: the credit remains subject to inspection and deadline rules.
- A newer model is similarly priced: compare the generation, warranty and remaining software-support outlook at checkout.
Samsung’s featured-offers page also lists up to $250 in trade-in credit for the Galaxy Watch8 Classic, up to $200 or $120 off without trade-in for the Galaxy Watch8, and up to $150 for the Galaxy Watch7. Those figures are campaign-specific and should be confirmed on the live page.
Bottom line
The “50% off Galaxy Watch Ultra” headline was real as a May 26, 2025 deal report, but it described the best possible outcome: $649.99 minus a maximum $325 trade-in discount equals $324.99. A broadly eligible smartwatch reportedly produced the lower $215 credit and about a $434.99 price. As of the latest Samsung offer pages checked in August 2026, the old $324.99 promotion is not established as active; verify the exact trade-in quote and final checkout total before buying.
