Samsung’s U.S. Galaxy Ring preorder promotion was a genuine $50 price cut, not a store-credit offer. The ring’s $399.99 launch price fell to $349.99, and Samsung included a sizing kit with a stated $10 value. Preorders opened July 10, 2024, general availability began July 24, and the launch promotion has expired.
Samsung’s current offers are separate promotions. As of August 18, 2026, its U.S. offers page advertised up to $150 in instant trade-in credit or $100 off without a trade-in, subject to the live terms: Samsung’s current watches and audio offers.
The Galaxy Ring preorder deal, calculated
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Galaxy Ring launch MSRP | $399.99 |
| Preorder ring price | $349.99 |
| Immediate ring discount | $50 |
| Included sizing kit | $10 stated value |
| Advertised combined benefit | $60 |
The $60 figure did not mean $60 was removed from the ring’s price. It combined $50 off the hardware with a sizing kit supplied at no charge. Sales tax, optional Samsung Care+, financing costs and other purchases could change the checkout total.
The launch pricing and dates came from Samsung’s announcement: Samsung’s July 2024 Galaxy wearable announcement. The $349.99 price and sizing-kit value were reported during the preorder period by Droid Life.

When the promotion ran
- July 10, 2024: U.S. preorders opened.
- July 24, 2024: General availability began.
The exact closing time was not established in the available terms, so the safe description is that the discount applied during the preorder window and was no longer a preorder offer once retail availability began. It was available through Samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores, Amazon, AT&T and Best Buy during launch.
Why the sizing kit mattered
Galaxy Ring is sold in numbered sizes and cannot be resized like a watch band. The preorder package included Samsung’s sizing kit, valued at $10 in the contemporaneous deal report. A sensible process was:
- Request or use the sizing kit.
- Wear the test ring long enough to account for comfort, swelling and the finger you plan to use.
- Confirm the size before ordering the titanium ring.
- Check the exact return and exchange rules for the retailer or Samsung channel.
Samsung continues to show a “Order free Sizing Kit” option on some Galaxy Ring listings, but the current flow and eligibility can differ from the 2024 launch process. Verify it at checkout: Samsung sizing-kit listing.

What buyers were getting
Samsung positioned Galaxy Ring as a health and wellness tracker linked to Samsung Health and Galaxy phones. Launch messaging emphasized sleep, activity, heart-rate and broader wellness insights. Available features depend on the connected phone, software and Samsung ecosystem; check Samsung’s current supported-device documentation before buying.
That ecosystem focus is central to the value proposition. A Galaxy owner seeking sleep and wellness data without wearing a smartwatch had a clearer reason to buy than someone using an iPhone or expecting identical functionality from every Android phone. The launch sources do not establish every current service-policy detail, so buyers should verify present account, app, phone and feature requirements rather than assume all functions are universal.
Who benefited from preordering—and who had reason to wait
Preordering made sense for
- Existing Samsung Galaxy owners already using Samsung Health.
- Shoppers who wanted a ring rather than a watch for sleep and wellness tracking.
- Early adopters comfortable with first-generation hardware.
- Buyers who knew their size or were willing to use the sizing kit.
- Anyone who valued an immediate $50 reduction more than waiting for testing.
Waiting was more sensible for
- iPhone users or shoppers wanting broad cross-platform compatibility.
- People uncertain about ring comfort, sizing, battery life, delivery or app behavior.
- Buyers who needed highly reliable workout or medical-grade measurements.
- Shoppers comparing Oura or Ultrahuman before choosing a platform.
- Anyone expecting larger post-launch or seasonal discounts.
Droid Life’s contemporaneous hands-on coverage was positive about comfort, sleep wearability, battery life and tracking, but those observations were one publication’s early experience—not proof of long-term accuracy or a comprehensive review.

Costs and promotion details that could vary
The standard preorder offer did not guarantee identical checkout results for every customer. Employee, military, education or government programs, account or app promotions, financing, trade-ins, taxes, inventory and retailer-specific offers could alter the total. Do not assume unrelated Samsung credits stacked with the $50 reduction unless the applicable terms said so.
Samsung product pages also present financing, trade-in and protection-plan prompts. Those are separate from the expired launch discount. Current pricing and terms can change: Galaxy Ring product page and another Samsung configuration page.
Common problems with a launch deal
The discount does not appear
That can simply mean the preorder period ended. Other possibilities include an ineligible size or finish, a promotion applied automatically rather than as a coupon, a different regional storefront, a replacement promotion or a retailer purchase.

The chosen size or finish is unavailable
Launch inventory can vary by size and color. Buyers had to weigh keeping an order and waiting against choosing another finish, buying elsewhere or canceling and potentially losing the promotional price.
An order is canceled or returned
Promotional savings may be forfeited when an order is canceled or returned, depending on the terms. Review the exact order and channel policy instead of assuming the $50 survives.
A trade-in looks like the same deal
It is not. The 2024 offer was a flat $50 preorder reduction. Later “up to” discounts depend on the submitted device, condition and eligibility.
Current status
Expired: This was a July 2024 U.S. launch promotion. Any price or trade-in offer shown on Samsung’s site in 2026 is a different promotion and should be checked for eligible sizes, finishes, conditions and checkout pricing.
The Bottom Line
The promotion was legitimate: $349.99 instead of $399.99, plus a sizing kit valued at $10. Its practical value depended on Samsung-phone compatibility, accurate sizing and a willingness to accept first-generation uncertainty. It should not be presented as an available 2026 preorder deal.
