Install Mobvoi’s official Mobvoi watchfaces app from Google Play first: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobvoi.wear.watchface.aw. It is the supported way to expose some classic and preloaded Mobvoi faces on compatible Wear OS 3 or newer TicWatches. It does not guarantee that every face removed from your original Wear OS 2 firmware will return. If Google Play will not offer the app to your watch, an APK sideload is an advanced, unofficial fallback.
Why TicWatch faces disappeared
Mobvoi’s later Wear OS 3-family firmware cleanup removed “obsolete” stock watchfaces and low-use applications to free storage and improve system fluency. Mobvoi’s upgrade history specifically mentions obsolete watchfaces, Calculator and TicBreathe: Mobvoi upgrade history. This was not simply a cosmetic change to the watchface picker; firmware-bundled components were removed.
The affected guidance covers the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS, TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, TicWatch Pro 3 LTE and TicWatch E3. Results can differ between GPS and LTE editions, regional firmware, and Wear OS 3 versus 3.5 builds. See Mobvoi’s transition instructions at Mobvoi’s Wear OS 3 update guidance.
What can be restored
- System/preloaded faces: faces originally bundled in firmware; some were removed during the cleanup.
- Mobvoi watchfaces app: a separate package that currently exposes a selection of classic or preloaded faces for Wear OS 3 and newer.
- Third-party faces: Google Play installations are separate and are not restored by Mobvoi’s app.
- Other removed apps: reinstalling watchfaces does not bring back Calculator, TicBreathe or other deleted components.

Install it through Google Play
Remote installation from a phone or computer
- Open the Mobvoi watchfaces Play page and sign in with the Google account used on the watch.
- Click or tap Install.
- Open the device selector beside the install control and choose your TicWatch. Wording and placement can vary by browser, account and region.
- Confirm the installation and wait for the watch to receive it over Wi-Fi or its phone connection.
- On the watch, open Play Store and check installed apps or watchfaces.

Install directly on the watch
- Open Play Store on the TicWatch.
- Search for Mobvoi watchfaces.
- Verify the developer is Mobvoi Information Technology Company Limited, then install.
- After installation, press and hold the current face, swipe through the picker and tap the restored face. Google documents the picker gesture at Change your watch face.
If the watch is missing from the device selector
- Confirm the watch and phone use the same Google account.
- Check that the watch is online through Wi-Fi or its phone connection and that Play Store opens on the watch.
- Search for the app directly on the watch; Play’s remote list can lag or filter devices differently.
- Verify the exact model and Wear OS version in the watch’s Settings. Compatibility can vary by model, firmware and region.
- Reboot both devices and retry.
- After a Wear OS 3 transition, complete pairing in Mobvoi Health. Mobvoi’s instructions tell users to remove the old Wear OS and legacy Mobvoi companion apps before pairing the upgraded watch. The Mobvoi Health requirement for supported Wear OS 3 models is also described in the Mobvoi user guide.
- If Play reports a stale incompatibility, clear Play Store cache/data on the phone and watch, restart, and check again. Do not factory-reset solely for a missing face.
What the official app cannot promise
Installing the app may restore some classic or preloaded Mobvoi faces, but availability depends on the model, firmware, app version, Google Play compatibility and the face packages Mobvoi still distributes. Google separately warns that older faces can become unavailable for installation, restoration or updates as Wear OS compatibility and quality requirements change: Google’s watchface availability guidance and Google’s announcement about available faces.

There is no complete official catalog of every removed Mobvoi face. Names such as Rainbow or Cube appear in individual user reports, but those reports do not establish universal availability or a model-wide removal list.
Advanced fallback: APK sideloading
If Google Play will not install the app to a compatible watch, an experienced user can try a third-party APK archive. APKMirror lists a Mobvoi-attributed, Mobvoi-signed build, version 1.7.1-786.102, uploaded September 28, 2024:

APKMirror is not Mobvoi’s official support channel. Verify the package name com.mobvoi.wear.watchface.aw, developer attribution and signature; avoid modified, repackaged or file-hosted copies. A phone APK is not automatically the correct watch APK, and a successful install still does not prove that a particular face is bundled.
Generic Wi-Fi/ADB procedure
- On the watch, open Settings → About watch → Software and tap the software/build entry repeatedly until Developer options are enabled.
- Open Settings → Developer options and enable ADB debugging plus Wireless debugging or Debug over Wi-Fi, if your firmware provides it.
- Put the phone and watch on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Use a Wear OS-compatible installer or ADB utility, pair with the watch’s displayed address or wireless-debugging prompt, and select the APK.
- Install, reboot if required, then check the watchface picker.

Recover from a failed sideload or pairing loop
- If the package crashes, creates duplicates or breaks the picker, uninstall the sideloaded package, reboot and try the Google Play installation instead.
- Free storage before retrying; installation can fail because of low space, ABI or minimum-SDK requirements, signature conflicts, or an existing newer package.
- If ADB cannot connect, confirm both devices share Wi-Fi and that wireless debugging is enabled; firmware labels differ.
- If the app installs but no face appears, the package may not contain that face or the firmware may filter it.
- For a post-update pairing loop, remove the old Wear OS app, legacy Mobvoi app, Bluetooth pairing and stale pairing data, then pair again through Mobvoi Health.
- Back up and synchronize important data before any reset. Mobvoi states that the Wear OS 3 upgrade performs a factory reset and that it cannot be undone; a reset is therefore a last resort, not a watchface-recovery method.
Bottom line
For a TicWatch Pro 3-series or E3 running Wear OS 3+, install Mobvoi watchfaces from Google Play, then select the new face from the watchface picker. Expect a partial recovery rather than a guaranteed return of every removed Wear OS 2 face. Use the Mobvoi-attributed APKMirror build only when Play cannot see the watch and you understand the security and compatibility risks of sideloading.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work on the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, Pro 3 Ultra GPS, Pro 3 LTE and E3?
Those models are named in Mobvoi’s Wear OS 3 guidance, but the faces exposed by the app can still differ by exact model, edition, region and firmware.
Can I downgrade to Wear OS 2 to get every old face back?
The supplied documentation does not provide a supported downgrade path. A factory reset does not restore removed firmware components, and Mobvoi warns that the Wear OS 3 reset cannot be undone.
Is APKMirror an official Mobvoi download?
No. It is a third-party archive hosting a Mobvoi-attributed, Mobvoi-signed version. Prefer Google Play and verify package identity before considering sideloading.
