The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Matcha SRPF41J1 and Hojicha SRPF43J1 are STAR BAR limited editions inspired by cocktails featuring Kyoto green tea and roasted hojicha. Seiko limits each model to 7,000 pieces. The clearest distinction is their tea-inspired dial color; the available official specifications document the Matcha in detail, but do not establish a full specification sheet for the Hojicha.
Despite the original “Hands-On” wording, no firsthand inspection or performance test is established here. Seiko’s color descriptions are promotional, not observations of how either dial looks in changing light or on the wrist.
How the Matcha and Hojicha differ
Seiko places both references in its STAR BAR limited-edition collection and ties their design to cocktails associated with Hisashi Kishi, STAR BAR’s owner and head bartender in Tokyo’s Ginza district. Seiko describes the inspiration as a cocktail with Kyoto green tea and hojicha flavors, and says the dial pattern recalls Kyoto tea leaves. The page identifies Kishi as the first bartender to receive the “Contemporary Master Craftsman” award; that is Seiko’s biographical description.

What is documented about the Matcha SRPF41J1
Seiko Brazil lists the SRPF41J1 as a limited-edition automatic with a steel case, leather strap, calendar, 23 jewels, Hardlex crystal, screw-down crown and case back, caliber 4R35, and 50 m water resistance. Its stated case width is 38.5 mm. Seiko Brazil’s product page does not state a publication year for those specifications.
Those figures are specific to the SRPF41J1 documentation cited here. They should not be treated as confirmed SRPF43J1 specifications simply because the watches share a collection name or movement designation.

Which model should you choose?
Choose the Matcha if documented specifications matter most
The Matcha is the more straightforward choice for a buyer who wants a model-specific reference for case width, water resistance, crystal, strap and other listed components. Those details are documented by Seiko Brazil for SRPF41J1.
Choose by dial preference if the Hojicha color is the draw
Seiko India characterizes the Hojicha dial as smoky roasted-tea colored, while describing the Matcha as smoky green. If color is decisive, inspect the exact watch in person or seek reliable images under different lighting; the promotional wording cannot establish how either dial will appear in a particular setting.

Verify exact Hojicha details before buying
The official material cited here identifies SRPF43J1 and its 4R35 caliber and 7,000-piece limit, but does not provide a full technical specification. Confirm dimensions, water resistance, crystal, strap and clasp from an accessible manufacturer document or the seller’s documentation rather than transferring Matcha figures to it.
What to check before purchasing
- Search and compare by the full reference: SRPF41J1 for Matcha or SRPF43J1 for Hojicha. Confirm the listing identifies the same model, not a similar standard Cocktail Time reference.
- Check current price, availability, condition, seller identity and authenticity independently. The cited manufacturer pages do not establish live inventory or market pricing.
- Ask for model-specific documentation for SRPF43J1 if dimensions or components affect your decision.
- If considering a replacement strap, verify the exact lug width and fit first. The cited Matcha page confirms a leather strap but does not state its width.
- For water use, rely on the documented 50 m rating for SRPF41J1 and follow Seiko’s guidance; do not infer the Hojicha rating from the Matcha.
Do not confuse these limited editions with SRPE41 and SRPE43
Seiko’s current standard Cocktail Time pages for SRPE41 and SRPE43 list a 4R35 automatic/manual-winding movement, approximately 41 hours of power reserve, 23 jewels, 38.5 mm diameter, 11.8 mm thickness, 45.4 mm length, 20 mm lug width, box-shaped Hardlex and 5 bar water resistance. These are comparator specifications for different references, not confirmed specifications for the limited-edition SRPF41J1 or SRPF43J1.
