Movement and everyday operation
Solar V192 caliber
The V192 is a solar-powered chronograph rather than a mechanical movement. Light charges the watch, and Seiko specifies about six months of running time at full charge. That reserve is a manufacturer estimate, not a guarantee of identical performance in every wearing pattern or storage condition.

Chronograph functions
The chronograph measures up to 60 minutes. The dial also provides a 24-hour indication, power-reserve display and date. A tachymeter scale supports speed calculations over a known distance; it does not itself make the watch a certified measuring instrument.
Accuracy expectations
Seiko’s current official specification is ±15 seconds per month. Actual results can vary with temperature, charging state and use, so the figure should be treated as the stated tolerance rather than a promise of a fixed daily rate.
Case, fit and water resistance
At 39.0 mm wide, the SSC937 is smaller than many contemporary racing chronographs. Its 45.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement should suit a broad range of wrists, while the 13.3 mm thickness gives it noticeable wrist presence. The 20 mm lug width allows a wide selection of replacement straps.

Seiko specifies a curved sapphire crystal and 10-bar water resistance. That rating is suitable for normal swimming and surface-water activities when the crown and pushers are correctly secured, but it is not a substitute for professional diving equipment or periodic pressure testing.

Light-blue dial
The light-blue dial is the model’s most obvious visual distinction. It is paired with a natural stainless-steel bezel rather than a dark contrasting insert, giving the Speedtimer a brighter, less conventional appearance than many black or white chronographs.
Two-strap setup

How limited is the blue Speedtimer?
Seiko identifies the SSC937 as a 3,000-piece limited edition. The edition number describes the planned production quantity, not the number currently available through dealers or the number remaining unsold. Individual numbering, regional allocation and retailer stock can differ.
Jorg Weppelink described the model as EU-exclusive in a December 14, 2023 Fratello Watches report. That makes European dealer and boutique channels the logical starting point, but regional availability can change after launch. Buyers outside Europe should confirm import costs, warranty coverage and seller authorization before paying.
Price and where to buy SSC937P1
Fratello Watches reported an availability price of €780 beginning in January 2024. That is a launch-era report from 2023, not a universal current price. A Seiko Hungary regional listing accessed in 2026 showed 298,000 Ft, illustrating why local currency, taxes and market timing matter.
