TAG Heuer describes the FT6228 as having “a distinctive 44mm steel case, black ceramic bezel, and powered by the Calibre 16 automatic.” That is manufacturer product copy, not an independent assessment. See the official FT6228 product page and BA0643 UK product page for their respective listings.
What does Calibre 16 do?
TAG Heuer identifies Calibre 16 as an automatic movement with a stated 48-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) on these two product pages. The listed functions are hours, minutes, date and chronograph timing: quarter-second timing, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent movement measurements.

There is a separate figure in TAG Heuer’s general Calibre 16 user guide: it says a fully wound watch continues for approximately 42 hours. That guide wording is not the same as the 48-hour figure on these two specific product pages, so check the documentation supplied with the exact watch rather than assuming one figure applies universally. The Calibre 16 user guide also covers operation and care.
Is the Carrera Calibre 16 water resistant to 100 m?
Yes. TAG Heuer rates both listed references at 100 m, and its Calibre 16 guide says Carrera models within its scope are water-resistant to 100 m. A rating alone does not establish suitability for every water activity; consult the guide for the exact watch and follow its care instructions.

How does it differ from the newer Carrera Chronograph?
The name Carrera Chronograph spans watches with different movements. In particular, the newer 44 mm CBN2A1A.BA0643 is listed with a TH20-00 movement and an 80-hour power reserve. Its reference is close to, but not the same as, the Calibre 16 bracelet model, CBN2A1AA.BA0643. The extra “A” matters: verify the complete reference before comparing specifications or choosing a listing. TAG Heuer’s official newer CBN2A1A.BA0643 page identifies the TH20-00 version.

The manufacturer information establishes case diameter, movement designation, stated functions, power-reserve figures, water-resistance rating and the two strap-and-bezel configurations. It does not establish how either version wears on a particular wrist, measured timekeeping accuracy, or long-term durability.
